It’s funny, at 26 years old Jay Beagle had 41 games of NHL experience, at 24 years old (just turned 25 a few weeks ago) B. Gaunce has 117 games of NHL experience. They’re both subpar NHL caliber players, Gaunce just needs another GM to find him useful like Beagle has and he can have an ok career. Never say never lol. - Pacificgem
The problem is that you are only looking at points for both players...Beagle is a hundred times the player that Gaunce could ever hope to be. |

I think Derek Dorsett and Tom Tostitos were the most willing enforcers this team has had over the past few years. - Nucker101
Tostitos haha. Yeah that’s about right. We all onow my opinion of Dorsett as a player but he did go to bat when the time came |

I just hate the low bar that so many fans seem content with. “Hey, he’s an upgrade on Gaunce so I’m cool with it.”
Well no (frank)ing poop he’s an upgrade on an AHL player lol. Even Nic Dowd is an upgrade on Gaunce because he’s in the NHL and playing in a checking/PK role on a good team.
Roussel and Vanek are the only UFA’s signed over the past 2 summers that were actually good deals. The rest have been poor value. - Nucker101

Are you saying that 4th liners don't need to be 50 goal scorers? That cant be right! |

My reaction was the same as his to your comment but then I drew a blank as my hands hovered over the keyboard.

Not trying to be a Richard here (it’s just in my nature) but please go back a decade and show us the post where you said “man, that Jay Beagle kid is going to be a beast on the 4th line one day, if only some coach will give him a chance” |

What’s your point? One day Gaunce will be as good as Beagle? You keep mentioning this but what point are you trying to emphasize? |

I’m trying to say that you keep comparing Beagle now instead of Beagle then. Then, you would have complained about what a scrub he was and how the team should send him to the minors for ever.
Gaunce doesn’t fit Greens style of play. He isn’t quick, or fast. But in the right situation, where tenacity around the net, like in St Louis, he could find success and win a cup. Then you bozos will be complaining about how we let him go for nothing.
I care less about Gaunce than I did Volpatti or CoRrado, but you guys sure get worked up about what a waste of space he is. |

I’m not sure I buy into Vintage’s suggestion that Gaunce could be a solid 4th liner on a good playoff team but he’s right about it being funny about how worked about you guys are getting over a dude who’s more of a Comet than a Canuck lol.

I beg to differ . I said all last year he was not even good enough to be a Comet . I said it early last year he will not be re-signed. |
