I think Carolina are surprising a few people, me included, on how good they are. Being out West I don’t see that Mickey Mouse franchise much but they had a 46 win 99 point season, not to mention they scored 245 goals and were +22 in differential. Seventh best team in the league in terms of just points, tied with Winnipeg and St. Louis. |

Carolina traded aging star Eric Staal to the Rangers for a couple second round picks then turned around and traded one of those, along with a third round pick which they also acquired by trading a bunch of nobodies for, to get Teravainen and took on Bickell’s salary.
Why can’t we ever have a management group that understands the value of cap space and acquiring picks? |
