Carol Schram: Man Games Lost: Vancouver Canucks top of the class for team injuries With new data showing that the Vancouver Canucks have lost more man games to injury than any other NHL team over the past nine seasons, should the team look to innovations in sport science to help stem the tide of non-traumatic injuries?

JB stikes me as old school in that regard. I'd be surprised.

Be nice to see a chart of who was, most to least, and, forwards vs defensemen, injured during that timeframe for the Canucks.

was just searching the Internet for a Gaunce tombstone. Couldn’t find one, which leads me to believe, he will resurface and have a career year some place else.

With the right opportunities and a coach that believes in him I could easily see Gaunce scoring 2-3 goals next year. I believe in you Gaunce! (frank) You Green for not believing in our boy!

I mean, it doesn’t compare with the 3 that Beagle scores this year, but a 2 goal campaign would be a good start for him in a new city.

Thanks Carol.

As long as our top 2 D are Edler and Tanev, this team will continue to be held down by injuries and the playoffs will be just out of reach.

Absolutely. Could easily see him breaking 20 goals in the AHL next year.

And the year after...

He will probably sign a two way deal with a team like Columbus or Ottawa. Badly in need of players, and where there is an actual opportunity, unlike Vancouver with all its depth.

I think Gaunce's time in the NHL is coming to an end.

Gaunce....

Another 1st round bust by Gillis.

Seven 1st round opportunities, traded one away for Ballard, picked 6 times... only Horvat is in the NHL.

Even Nonis did better in half the time.

It’s funny, at 26 years old Jay Beagle had 41 games of NHL experience, at 24 years old (just turned 25 a few weeks ago) B. Gaunce has 117 games of NHL experience. They’re both subpar NHL caliber players, Gaunce just needs another GM to find him useful like Beagle has and he can have an ok career. Never say never lol.

How about the rights to Brendan Gaunce for V. Nichushkin?

My God, Mike Gillis and company were so pathetic at drafting, just awful. Even drafting late they still missed guys who would contribute at the NHL level in some capacity. Rounds 2-7 were even worse, Oiler pathetic.
