Not sure why in some cases. Injury history. Maybe GMs not wanting to tick off another GM because of potential trade options. Maybe factors of personality or work ethic that we don’t see.
Edit: There is the contract factor, cap and roster space, but none of those are a glaring problem for Morin.

Regardless some are worth the risk and Big Sam doesn’t have hidden issues. Unless he gets a new injury...I can’t think of a good enough reason for someone not to take him.

It wasn’t Hagg that had me upset that season (was it 2 seasons ago?), he seemed ready the start in the NHL. The debate was over Morin or the younger Sanheim, who looked like he needed more AHL experience and was later returned to the Phantoms.

It doesn’t matter anymore, Morin ended up getting hurt and it’s all history now. Morin should get a good look this coming season.

Robert Hagg was ready and everyone knew it. What didn’t make sense was Morin looked ready too but Hakstol went with Sanheim who clearly needed AHL seasoning.
