Hopefully the next coach doesn't get a raw deal like GMTM
- TheSabresTaco

I know this is a GMTM joke, but honestly, I don't see how this roster realistically COULD be a playoff team next year.

We'd need Dahlin and Mitts to become All Stars and goaltending to return to the 10 game win streak level at least, with the perfect additions to round out the roster.

I'm guessing Tip goes to EDM. Just a hunch.

Because "this roster" won't exist next season. That's how.

(frank) Edmonton. That's not happening.

Can't tell if sarcasm but You're moving, at minimum, Reinhart in a deal that gets you kadri and nylander.

Risto and a 1st. Haha

Helps Toronto stay under the cap.

We are doing them a favor.

I want my GM to operate using all available resources. I do not want the guy who thinks his eyes are always right, his 80 year old scouts eyes are always right, and that truculence will bring us the stanley cup.
- Sabresfan-365

And where is that gm? Because the ones you listed have made some huge mistakes

The leafs are going to be in cap hell soon and Chayka just gives players up and picks guys like Barrett Hayton who I’m sure all of us would pretty much rage at when you pass on Hughes

But if that’s what you want

The old guy from Cheers did when he had a young Woody Herrelson slingin' beers.

Defence is just as important as offence. Whatever gap there is in goals vs assists, it's washed out by the fact that Reinhart is at least competent in his own end.

He's also younger.

- Sabresfan-365

Disagree.

I’m pretty sure it’s been proven that Xgf has been a better indicator of team success than Xga but I could be wrong

You think we can have enough turn over to get in next year? Don't need the game plan, just asking Y/N.

I believe in Tippett's ability to coach. He's succeeded before and hopefully can do it again. I'm rooting for him to be the hire, if our pool is simply ex NHL head coaches. And hopefully, if he's the hire, he succeeds here.

And he kept the Arizona coyotes competitive with his Top Line Center Sam Gagner and the great Antoine Vermette

Sure, like he's gonna do something so magically earth-shattering that it will change the face of hockey forever. Everyone thinks that there's a Rosetta Stone like that. That the most creative new coach or a few more years of high draft picks or some combination of analytical formulas is the answer.

I don't think it works that way
