Jason Botterill is dead man walking. The Sabres chances of making the playoffs anytime soon under the current format are very remote at this point. Give the first 3 spots to TB, Boston and Toronto for the forseeable future. The Panthers have more talent and now have Coach Q and are primed to add talented UFAs like Panarin. The Habs are also likely better than us for the next couple seasons.

No playoffs next season and the seat is going to be very warm for GMJB. I think he's out of work no later than April of 2021. And whichever coach he hires will go with him. I suspect this is why not many coaches want to come to Buffalo right now.

Picking 6th in the draft is better then paying top dollar for guys past their primes. Panarin isn’t coming here. Duchene is buyer beware even though I like him a lot. The only thing is that how long can we continue to be like this until Eichel wants out. I hope we can make the playoffs next year but I want to stay away from contracts that will kill us in the 2022-2027 time frame when this team will be a perennial contender. Look at the huge pain in the ass Patty Marleau’s contract is on the leafs right now (unless they can somehow move him).

The Penguins pipeline has got to stop. But it wouldn't surprise me if it's Martin. Heck, I would rather have Ruff and I don't like that idea either. This place will erupt regardless of who Botts picks.

Best case scenario would be Keefe. Second choice would be Tippett imo.

I don't see us signing any big name UFA's. Maybe a few lower tier guys, that's about it. I don't see Buffalo as an attractive spot for the big name UFA's. And if we don't sign simple man Lynyrd Skinner, would any UFA want to come here? I'm not sold.

Grönborg signed a 2 year deal, and since Botts didn't even interview him, only chance we get him is probably with our next GM
