I have no problem with Marner at 10.75 /per making him the highest paid winger in the NHL. If he's getting that though, I want him signing for 8 years.

He doesn't deserve more money than Kucherov. Whatever he does end up getting, Rantanen deserves more.

Pretty sure their analytics are pretty close maybe even leaning towards Marners being better.

Problem is the Leafs didn’t get enough term out of the Matthews contract and maybe overpaid him a tad. It’s going to hurt the Marner contract.

He'll get 11+ per for 5 years 95% signing bonus because Dubas sucks at negotiating.

Laine is going to bend Winnipeg over as well and destroy their cap structure so at least they won't be winning anything either.

ZERO chance. That contract was done BEFORE Matthews deal. Dubas has upped the asking price. He definately gets in the 10 million per year range, and that is ONLY IF for a 5 or 6 year deal. Tanner says 10 for 8 years. ZERO chance there too. 8 year deal would require MUCH more than 10.

Mark it down 10 or 10.5 for 5 years......even higher if for more years.

For those who think Marner gets less than Matthews cuz he's a winger please look at the Toews and Kane Deals and tell me that a Center is more valuable than a winger. Noth were top line players and core players for the Hawks and they were paid the SAME.
