"Karlsson is good at defense"- People who don't watch Karlsson play hockey

- GreatGigInTheSky

Quite laughable how you always talk trash about Karlsson - almost like you've never seen him playing...

Nah, I watch him play a good deal. I just call him out on his complete lack of defensive awareness.

And I think it's great that the media is finally calling him out on it now, too.

That drop can be attributed to Sparks. The difference in the amount of goals the Leafs allowed last year compared to this year was almost the exact same number as the difference between McCupcake last year and Sparks this year.

Dubas took a chance with the younger goalie, but it failed. I hope Sparks is not the Leafs backup next year.

sparks and the injuries to gardiner and dermott too. I wrote a letter to the prime ministers office recommending a law be passed that would forbid any canadian NHL team from having Martin Marincin on the ice at any time for any reason.

Defensively he is, for sure. Offensively, arguably one of the best.

So I figure that puts him right in the middle somewhere.

Idk if anyone has ever said he is great defensively but more so he drives play so much that he’s on the ice for more goals for, out shoots, out chances, out attempts the opposition when he’s on the ice he doesn’t need to be very good in his own end, as he for than makes up for it. Will be interesting to see where he ends up this off season. Can’t say I’ve watch much this year so can’t say I know how he’s faired there.

People for sure say that he's good defensively because he moves the puck well. But that's because people are mistaking transition for defense.

It's all fine and dandy that he can move the puck well, but when the other team has the puck in his end, he's absolutely useless. He gets walked around and passed through every shift basically.

I think that if it's a long term contract, the team that signs him is gonna regret it badly.

Friedman says at the 2015 draft St Louis and SJ had a deal worked out Shattenkirk and Oshie for the 9th overall and Hertl but SJ backed out when Meier was left on the board. Imagine that going through, Would love to see all the deals that have been close but didn’t happen over the years..

Yeah, that'd be pretty great to see.

And that would have turned out to be a pretty great trade for St. Louis.

Yeah, at the time it would have been good for SJ actually too, went to the finals the next year I think right?

I've never had Mary Browns but people seem to really like it. I have to disagree though, I'll take Popeyes over KFC. Not that there's much to choose between the two.

We had a Mary Browns franchise three different times in my home town. They faired well when the Alberta energy industry was booming, and closed down when it would bust and all the Newfoundlandrers moved back home.

That makes it goooood. I only know because I made my own fried chicken using Paula Deen's recipe deep fried in peanut oil and it was unbelievable.

Much as it upsets me to say, I think Sparks is going to be back. Like to see him moved for a better backup overall but with the cap and all I think we keep the young, cheap option for now behind Freddy and hope he has a better year and finds himself and his game, such as it is.

Think we ride it out while Scott and Woll get going and we see what we have there.
