To me, it's going to be a shame to see Bethpage set up to PGA champ standards and not USGA standards. I don't want to see that course get torched. It's been wet all week, we could see some video game scores. - 2sticks1puck
Bunkers will stop that from happening.

Has the fight strap too, looks & feels the same as ones I got from the NHL shop. Not bad, $32 customized & free shipping.
God bless cheap foreign labor. Trump better stop these trade threats! |

Bad lies are bad lies, but in today's game if you give the guys a fairway and a few feet of not that bad rough, they are going to have a field day. It may dry out over the weekend, but if they can just spin the ball at will, I could see multiple people shooting 64 early. |

I am eyeing some jerseys on there now. I am a little concerned since some look pretty bad.
Searching around I found some really nice examples that are probably worth the chance. Looking at a Gretzky Kings jersey and a Black Blackhawks Kane Jersey. |

I lump golf together with pool and chess. They are not sports, they are games. - JRR1285
You are correct. They are activities, not sports. NASCAR is not a "sport" either. |

Black is a tough course, regardless, especially the par 4s. Elevated greens, tight fairways, length, amount of bunkers around greens, ton of fescue only a few feet off fairways, and the many twists and turns should keep scores low. Won't be +1 winner, but I don't see a -15 winner either |

Racing I am kind of on the fence about. Some of those races the guys go through hell and you need to be in pretty good physical condition to make it through. |

I played the Black like 20 yrs ago and I stopped counting strokes after 50....on the 6th hole
I used to be decent. I shot 84 on the yellow course. A legit, no mulligan 84. |

Which ones look bad? I wouldn't always trust the images. I have gotten jerseys from 2 sellers on there "top sports mall" and "zheyu jersey stores", all 4 came out great. |

Ouch! I usually play it twice a year. I can be good, at times I love all of the courses there. For me, RED is the toughest course.
My brother got married there a month after the first open. It was cool taking pictures on course. |

I didn't take note of the particular sellers. But the images showed what I have seen at games as obvious fakes (very wrong material, bad colors, very wrongly sized numbers/letters). But I am looking at a shop right now that looks really good. Milk Jersey Store. 99.6% positive.
How has the fit been on yours? That seems to be the chief complaint. I am usually an XL. |

We will see, the last two winners (albeit not a major) were around -10. I just think with people's lengths and being able to spin the ball at will Thursday and Friday, we will see some low numbers.

Set up is closer to the Barklays than the US Open.

I beg to differ on golf. You need to be so many things to be good at it. You need stamina, be in shape, you have to be cerebral, upper and lower body power, you need touch, you need a compact swing...all that while trying to a get tiny ball in a hole sometimes 600 yds away.
Hitting a golf ball, where you intend too, is the hardest thing to do in sports.
Bowling is an activity, not golf. |

Yeah, read the reviews for sure. I'm 5'11", 175, and I got a size 52, think that was a large. It fits pretty well. |

No lol. Just saying I see that a lot and it couldn’t be further from the truth🤷🏻♂️
Think about how many great golfers there are in the WORLD right now? Maybe 10-15.
For guys like us, yea it’s an activity, but those pros are athletes |

Nope, it's not a sport unless there is someone defending against you. Now if there is someone blocking the hole, or trying to disrupt your swing, then it would be a sport. But as it is, it's an activity. |

Agreed with golf being really hard, that in of itself doesn't make it a sport. While i don't consider it a sport, I play poker fairly regularly. I won't consider myself a pro by any stretch, but I can tell you to play competitively is a very mentally taxing affair. People don't realize that even though you don't play every hand, during the hands you don't play you need to be studying all the time. Playing sometimes 16 hours at a time takes alot out of you if you are focused the entire time.
I also agree with the above post, if golf is a sport, racing is a sport. I'd wager that your average race car driver at the top levels is much more physically fit than your average top golfers. There haven't been a ton of John Dalys driving race cars |
