I like that top 9 - nyrangers9479
Now see look at that, and now tell me you wouldn’t want Karlsson feeding that group of forwards for seven straight seasons? He could seriously blow past his previous numbers |

People will think I’m crazy, but I think he’s the better trade up target, over Caufield. I get Matt Brazal from him (comparable). Really need to know, with Zegras, where he ranks these days. - Slimtj100
Stop it, we aint getting in the top 10. |

I really don't think so. I think the best we could hope for is mid teens.

Not that I really want to do this, but since we are talking crazy...
Why not trade Skjei, Kreider, and #20 to Edmonton for #8 |

It would have to be a team attracted to Kreider and need a full season from a guy that wants make the playoffs. Unless Sjkei, but I doubt the rangers would trade him |

I'm sure it might have happened, but I don't know of any team that was able to trade from 20 or even late teens all the way into the top 10. Especially that this draft seems to be pretty good. If you can get a cost controlled really good draft pick I wouldn't be trading that for the 20th pick and a guy who is looking for a big raise and going to be a ufa in a year |

The teams Gorton should be talking to are Arizona, Colorado, Edmonton, and Montreal. I really think something can be done with Colorado based on where they are as an org, having two high firsts, and just missing a deep run this year. They might even have interest in Georgiev. |

that's an awful lot
remember at 8, you are still probably getting a guy a couple of years away, maybe even one of these Americans like Zegras who is going to college for 2-3 years |

Not only that, but it gives an insight where you think the franchise will be. If you do that, you are probably conceding that it will be like 3 years until you are a playoff team again. If that’s the case, no need to sign Panarin either. That’s honestly a type of trade that you could have justified last year, but we aren’t in that position anymore |

Absolutely not. If Karlsson was 25, ok. He’s going to be 30 at the end of next year. |

With TOR bring in some cap trouble, what about targeting Nylander. Coming off a terrible season, 20 Kreider Lundkvist |

I think Nylander is very overrated. Yes he had a bad year, and held out, but even at 60 points a year, playing with that roster, for 7M a year... no thanks |

Yea to much. I don’t like him at all. I’d have tough a time with Kreider straight up. You won’t take this for anything, but all the Toronto people bash him constantly. Very soft and lazy and he makes 7 million bucks |

You convinced me, all joking aside with the lazy and soft part. You don’t need to be Lemeuix but just have a little fire in you. Strome for example, not a tough guy or big but when the game gets physical he can play that style. Soft and lazy is not the team we’re building. |

What about DET as a trade partner? They need a goalie but also going through a rebuild so not sure they’d want to trade out of the top 10. I think BUF or EDM are our best bets. Both teams have been bad for a while and have had a bunch of top 10 picks over the years. My guess is if we move into the top 10 it’s there. |

I don’t see Detroit trading out. Def could see both Buffalo and Edm doing it though. They both have some serious pressure to start making the playoffs |

Edmonton needs to shed cap. Unless somehow they are offering 8 as a sweetener for someone taking Lucic, they are gonna try to get picks, not trade them |
