McDavid is on a tire fire of a team. He is on what his 5th coach and 3rd GM and he has been to the playoffs 1 time so that tells us not every team can follow the Pittsburgh model

I think it's his 2nd GM but yeah. That franchise is a disaster but they have a couple of amazing pieces. They just need the right complimentary guys to compete again.

But I think us being upset about getting Hughes would be pretty dumb. Hughes has elite speed and can play the game fast all around. He might not be a generational player but he apparently has the tools to be the #1 center a team needs.

Sid is the only generational center to win the cup recently, a bunch of other elite centers have won the cup the rest of the time. Ovechkin is the other generational player to win the cup, one time.

I have no reasoning or basis to back this up but I just feel deep down Kakko would turn into our Finnish Ovi. Your dream of wanting Ovi would go away once you saw Kakko. Why I really hope we get him.

I think either way we are in a can't miss spot, and I agree I would prefer Kakko. Once either is signed I will be going to DHgate to get either Jersey for my son and probably myself

Hughes is not a consolation prize for picking second, he is a prize. Curious to see how the rankings might change as we get closer to the Draft. Can't wait.
