Why is everyone in love with RNH? I also definitely do not want Matt Duchene, what’s he done really except get bounced around the league. He’s 28 years old, and going to want a max deal. I’ll pass thank you. - pucks4all
Why do I like RNH? He is good on both sides of the ice, plays the PP and PK and can also play 20+ mins a game if needed.
The real question is why don't others like RNH? Because he was a #1 pick and not putting up 100 point seasons?
Put him in another situation and you will have a similar case that happened with Taylor Hall in Jersey. |

i dont know as maybe he is a good 2nd line center is a possibility. - daryl stanley
Is he really any better than what we have in house already? I think G, Coots , and Patrick are more than capable. Let’s see what this new coaching staff can do to progress Patrick’s game. I’m thinking a scoring winger would be more beneficial. |

I think RNH would be a great fit. Only issue is that I see it as a real long shot in availability and trade potential. I would be really proud of Fletcher for pulling that off.

yes he is better than patrick and clode is a winger. He provides an instant upgrade at center. |

I like RNH, but it all comes down to what it costs via trade. FA only costs money but almost always requires an overpay to get your guy while the trade costs you assets, probably still with an overpay in players/prospects/picks. I'm torn on which route I'd go. As of now, I prefer the FA options so we can hold onto the trade assets a bit longer unless the right deal is there. I'd rather overpay in $$/years right now but definitely have a walkaway point from guys like Duchene, Nelson, and Hayes. I have no walkaway point from Panarin. I'll leave it to him to walk away. |

I’m not saying I’d be against RNH playing here. I think he could fit. My thinking is acquiring another center takes ice time from Patrick, who could use more ice time to develop his game further. |

Eventually Edmonton will have to make that decision. RNH has already shown his frustration with the club, especially his recent exit interview, and has made it clear if it doesn't change he wants to leave. He wants consistent linemates that aren't cheap AHLers and Edmonton is having trouble getting rid of the salaries that are holding them back from improving.
The biggest road block is the asking price for RNH, availability is there. |

I think the flyers will have more interest in going through the trade route. They are flush with prospects/picks and I’m sure there are nhl pieces fletcher would like to change out |

i also favor the trade route. Cant have room for all the picks/prospects. If you have to do a slight overpay now is the time as the prospect/pick inventory is full |

I agree, but how do you gain experience? A young player needs the trust of his coaching staff to grow as a player. |

adding a 2nd line center will do nothing to deter the development of patrick |

Well Edmonton is a mess...RNH isn’t the issue. Eventually is right...just don’t see it being this offseason as I imagine the asking price is a center at least. The Flyers don’t have a NHL center I wish to trade.

And I'm perfectly content with that if it isn't a clear overpay since we have stockpiled quite a bit. Just don't want Fletcher to flush them all down the drain for older vets in one summer. Deal them for guys in their mid 20s and I'm good with it. I'd have a lot of interest in Jason Zucker from Fletch's old squad if he's still available this offseason. I know he isn't the headliner people are looking for but feel like he'd be a real solid addition. |

How about Anders Lee from NYI or is there no chance he leaves the Isle? Love his game, Fits the leadership bill and is a good, tough, shoot first guy. |

I don’t understand why the wrestling match on the ice wasn’t called prior to the goal. |
