Wonder what kind of money/term Johansen will be looking for this off season, hasn’t played a ton in the last two years, can’t imagine it will be to crazy. Could be a decent pick up if Leafs move on from some forwards for whatever reason (Kadri, Kap, Johnson, Nylander) believe he can play both center and LW

He was wasted by the club not himself. He went from a two time 30 goal scorer and very effective shut down centre - how many of those are in the league? 2? To being pushed back and now out the door it would seem. He is a solid second line centre, was one of the best in the NHL. Who can they replace him that is super cheap that will even fill those stat lines?

I like how Nylander plays half a season, has a down year from back to back 60 pts seasons and his trade value is "super low". Whereas Kadri who had back to back 30 goal seasons, has a down year and is still at the peak of trade value. People spin things any which way lol.

I think all GMs are smart enough to realize how good each player is. The "down year" excuse is just for the fans.

but If Edmonton comes at you with Puljjujarvi and Larsson for Kap and Brown do you do it?

I see a lot of EDM fans thinking Larsson is enough for Kap. As a 1 for 1 deal not a chance....but when you add in Pulupjuhwfeuih and Brown the Leafs get a cheaper player that might flourish.

and EDM gets Kap and Brown to play with MCD. Kap can keep up with MCD and Brown is the puck getter.

Agreed. Kap for Larssen is a wash. Brown for PoolParty pretty much the same.

Brown is better than he played this last season. PoolParty has yet to live up to expectations. I like Kap's speed but he lacks finish, Larssen is a big upgrade on D.
