2 minutes for receiving.

I'm only laughing because it's become so obvious that the NHL wants the Bruins to win..

Congrats on winning the Cup this year, RJ.

I missed the last game but the 1st game was horrible, complete BS. Obviously bawston took advantage of the chances handed to them by the refs but some of those calls were complete BS and that non call on the hit from behind at center ice was just pathetic.

I chose not to watch the 2nd game - after having seen the 1st. At some point, not what we the fans are saying, but the media has to start to stop being disingenuous about this garbage. Not criticizing the individual officials, that's pointless and easily deflected by the league office, but rather simply continue to put the video clips on nationally broadcasted sites.. and keep asking the question?

maybe the angle they should play is "is it because of Belichek and Brady"

the upside of this complete nonsense is that Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo who both play the more important position of Defense rather than wing like Marner - should be getting multiple offer sheets McAvoy in excess of 9M I would think... and Carlo at least 6.5M+ ... which should help the Bruins CAP space going forward.

After reading the question and answers, I am more convinced than ever that the Leafs are completely screwed. Every Leaf fan on the planet has been screaming for defence. Is Muzzin the answer? And now there are not enough funds to sign even their own players (Gardiner) that everyone hates. Meanwhile Dubas is treated with kid gloves. Is it possible Shanny picked the wrong GM? Think about that as you watch the first round of this years draft.

Naw, they'll both re-sign in Boston, each for $4M per year on 8 year deals, cause Leafs.

I am not going to debate whether or not the Bruins have been the best team in the east, because I actually think they have been.

The fact is, this stuff that actually happened:

Game 6 vs Columbus, with the Bruins up by a goal, McAvoy headshots someone that EVERYONE, except Boston fans knew was 5 and a game, and a suspension. Even the referee seemed to indicate, immediately, that he was gone. Then, magic happened, and Boston got only a 2 min penalty. They avoid the 5 minute major, Their best defenseman gets to finish the game, and they eliminate Columbus. They got away with 2 of the 3 consequences of a hit like that.

Game 1 vs. Carolina, Carolina is leading by a goal, late in the second, and seems in complete control. Boston is then given 4 consecutive powerplays, contrary to the run of play. At least one call is a mystery call, a blatant call at center ice somehow gets missed... They score 2 goals from this unlikely run of penalties and take control of the game.

Game 2 vs. Carolina. Marchand tries to decapitate Justin Williams, so clearly Williams deserved a penalty.

My favourite from yesterday was watching Marchand hook his stick around Justin Williams neck and Williams getting a penalty.

He will mature like most young players with all of the scrutiny when he hits 69.

Carolina is learning what the Leafs already knew and what Columbus just learned.

Yet, he'll be 31..

The league will be a better place once Marchand and Chara retire.. There shoud only be 15 more years of Chara after this one.

I seriously doubt that Chara will last more than 2-3 years ... firing out all those cross checks takes a toll on the shoulders and back..

Game 7 vs. Toronto. End of 2nd period, Marchand skates into crowd around Leafs' bench, cross-checks Marner (IIRC) in the back of the head.

Players pair up, some pushing and grappling, nothing really worthy of a call.

Then Chara (with glove still on) sucker punches Tavares in the head. Keep in mind, Chara is not paired up with Tavares, so Johnny Toronto has no idea it is coming.

Not a single franking call.

Kadri does either, it's a 4 game suspension.

nah... not necessary.

what's going to be wonderful is McAvoy realizing he should be getting 10M$ contract as he leads the Bruins defense core in ice-time, and he now knows he can simply state it was a hockey play when he tries to take someone's head off...

entitlement baby... its great.

clearly, he's a far superior player with much greater impact than Marner... so he should be getting BIG BIG dollars.

but no biggie... just a couple of RFAs to sign...

Carlo
Heinen

should be plenty of room...

Weird little tidbit in Friedman's 31 thoughts from last week:

4. Odd quirk in Patrick Marleau’s contract: his signing bonus is paid in two instalments, one in July, one in December. Remember, he controls his future, but that adds a wrinkle to any potential move.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/...raft-starting-take-shape/

We are franked.

Absolutely franked.

nah ... you're wrong.

Tavares should have gotten 2 for hitting unknowning Chara in the hand with his head... that was unsportsmanlike

do you remember how Hossa got that skin condition...

I'm guessing that Marleau may have a back issue that shows up in camp...

Tavares got punched in the head, referee next to him, turns his head so to avoid seeing the Chara punch.
