The first actual hockey game of the season for me comes on Friday night at the U of M. Not many CW pre-season games utilize the LeagueStat reporting, but both of this weekend's games are listed. There is no TV or radio coverage of the series. However, all men's home games are going to be heard on UMFM 101.5 and at their on-line link provided.
The Bisons have a decided edge over Regina in recent years. Over the last 5 years they are 12-3-1. However, last year it was a home sweep at the hands of the Banjocats that set the Bison season sideways. They started with a tour of the British Isles. They were short-staffed for that one but still went 1-3-0 (with two one-goal losses). When they came back, they beat SAIT, lost to Sask, and beat Regina. So fair enough. Then they split on the road against the Dinos, went down south where they lost twice (but once in overtime against UND), then split a home series against the Evil Monkeys. Pretty fair start. But those two losses to Regina started an 11-game losing streak. Ugh.
Of note, the rosters are being updated at 6 of the 8 CW team sites. Lethbridge and UBC are the only holdouts.
The Bisons have added two returning defencemen who did not dress for the Brown/Gold game. Those are Mitchell Dyck and Carter Doerksen. They have 28 players, 16 forwards, 9 defencemen, and 3 goaltenders. (I don't like it when a team only has 7 defencemen.)
Here's the Bison roster (number/name/year/former team):
Goaltenders:
1 Jeremy Link – 1 – Blues (MJHL)
30 Riley Lamb - 1 – Swift Current (WHL)
35 Tyler Brown – 1 – Saskatoon (WHL)
Defencemen:
2 Adam Henry – 5 – Portland (WHL)
3 Sean Christensen – 5 – St. Boniface (MMJHL)
4 Matthew Stanley – 1 – Swift Current (WHL) Jacksonville (ECHL)
5 Liam Schioler – 1 – Regina (WHL)
6 Mitchell Dyck – 2 – Winkler (MJHL)
11 Ryan Carlson – 2 – UWS (NCAA)/ Steinbach (MJHL)
25 Lucas Skrumeda – 3 – Everett (WHL)
27 Carter Doerksen – 2 – Nipawin (SJHL)
28 Brady Pouteau - 1 – Regina (WHL)
Forwards:
8 Connor Barley – 1 – Selkirk (MJHL)
9 Dylan Thiessen – 1 – Mercyhurst (NCAA)
10 Devon Skoleski – 2 – Blues (MJHL)
12 Keaton Jameson – 2 – Swan Valley (MJHL)
13 Nicholas Labossiere – 1 – Selkirk/Steinbach (MJHL) St. Vital (MMJHL)
14 Geordie Keane – 2 – Blues (MJHL)
15 Ben Dalke – 1 – Virden (WHL)
16 Josh Tripp – 1 – Swan Valley (MJHL)
17 Colton Veloso – 2 – Jacksonville (ECHL)
18 Bradley Goethals – 1 – Swan Valley (MJHL)/Saskatoon (WHL)
19 Nathan Halvorsen – 1 – Selkirk (MJHL)
20 Tony Apetagon – 1 – Blues/OCN (MJHL)
21 Brian Harris – 1 – Swan Valley (MJHL)/Edmonton (WHL)
22 Jeremey Leipsic – 2 – Portage (MJHL)
26 Matthew LeBlanc – 2 – Blues (MJHL)
29 Jonah Wasylak – 5 – Steinbach (MJHL)
Notes:
Chase Brakel – He was an announced recruit in June but is not on the roster.
Travis Ridgen – Looks like he's been cut again!
Regina's Roster

So I got to watch the pre-season home opener, caught my boy's friend's band, went home, got a cat nap, then started watching three Rugby World Cup games from Japan. Can I make it to 4:45 am when the All Blacks meet the Springboks? Might need another cat nap.
The first news of the evening is the arena renovations. There was a smell of paint, large fans were at ice level to clear the fog from the glass (it rained immensely and we had very high humidity), the handicapped seating stickers were being applied as the game started, and the prices at the concession stand have suffered a major boost. But the upper deck was in place. I snapped a shot of the Ice signage due to finished before they open Saturday night. I snapped a picture from the upper deck. You can see the centre ice scaffolding which is still up. It's a nice view above the netting. You can't really see the boards beneath you from that vantage point.
As for the game, the Bisons dressed 19 skaters. Here's the alignment:

Regina scored a soft one 3:40 into the game. Tristan Frei dribbled one underneath Tyler Brown's left pad. He'd like that one back. There was then no scoring until the 3rd period. Adam Henry pounced on a loose puck 7 minutes in to tie it. Then Jonah Wasylak tipped a point shot from Keaton Jameson to give the Herd their first lead 9 minutes in. The last 3 1/2 minutes saw a flurry of activity. Tanner Campbell tied the game when the Bisons vacated the d-zone to look for more goals, leaving a break-out opportunity for the Cougars. However Adam Henry restored the lead when he pinched in from the point to sink one in the open net. With the goalie pulled for an extra attacker, Regina evened the score again when Conner Chaulk converted a scramble. Neither the 4-on-4 nor the 3-on-3 produced a goal, and after 5 saves on the shootout, Chaulk scored the winner.
Regina is now 1-2-0 and the Bisons are 0-2-1 in the pre-season.
Rematch goes Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Luke Harrison led the Dinos with two goals, including the winner. Brodan Salmond got the win (32 stops ion 35 shots). Brendan Burke gave up two goals on five shots in the first period before being yanked. Matt Berlin stopped 21 of 23 shots to take the loss in relief. The teams head south for Saturday's rematch.

The T-irds now have convincing wins over both of next year's newcomers. They are now 2-3-1. Of concern, UBC dressed just 15 skaters. Holy injury bug, Batman! Tyler Sandhu led the way with a hat-trick, and Matt Revel scored a pair. Rylan Toth got the win with 15 saves. Marc-Olivier Daigle (a former Monkey from 2015-16 who never played) recorded a 28 save loss. The Peter Griffins are now 1-2-0. This series also continues Saturday.

There were very few line-up changes, but the game had quite a different feel. The passing was better and it looked more "regular season" than Friday's game. Both sides dressed 19 skaters and two goaltenders. Here's the alignment:

After a scoreless first period, the Bisons opened scoring 41 seconds into the 2nd period when Geordie Keane cashed in a perfect assist from Keaton Jameson. After 13 minutes, newcomer defenceman Matthew Stanley made it 2-0 with a hard point shot. Turner Ripplinger broke the shutout 7 minutes into the 3rd on a passing play inside the slot. Riley Lamb stopped all 11 shots he faced to get the win, and Jeremy Link came on mid-way through and stopped 14 of the 15 shots he faced. Dawson MacAuley went the distance and took the loss, with 32 saves on 34 shots.
It appears that the Bisons have been hit with a few injuries. Five players (Skoleski, Tripp, Leipsic, Leblanc, and Doerksen) never dressed for either game. Also, the team went with just 6 of their 9 defencemen actually playing on the blueline. 3rd year veteran Lukas Skrumeda played centre on Friday and last year's mid-season recruit Ryan Carlson played right wing both games. The last time the Bisons used defencemen as forwards on a regular basis they finished first! Up front, a massive influx of Junior A grads (even though very accomplished ones) will obviously experience some growing pains. Two players who did shine were Geordie Keane (who did not play last year and was a scratch most times the season before) and Nico Labossiere. Both had a nose for net. A lot of the others are playing nervous right now, which is understandable.
Here's a weekend stat: The Bisons were 2-for-15 on the PP, Regina was 0-for-10. Thankfully, there were far fewer penalties on Saturday than on Friday.
The Bisons are 1-2-1 in the pre-season, and Regina falls to 1-3-0. The Bisons will have two non-conference games down south during the conference bye week.
Regina kicks off the regular season at home with a Friday-Saturday series against Calgary, whilst the Bisons host Lethbridge inn a Saturday-Sunday series.

The Evil Monkeys trailed almost the whole game but in the end won it in OT. On the pre-season, Bedrock U falls to 6-1-1 and the Apes rise to 5-1-0. Cole Sanford led the Apes with 2 goals. Matt Berlin got the win with 20 saves on 24 shots, and Tyler Gutenberg got the loss with 18 saves on 23 shots. Not the greatest save percentages heading into the season. The season is about to start for real! Instead of the usual Friday/Saturday double-header, this will be a Saturday/Sunday affair. The Bison opponent will be the Hørny Ønes, a team against whom the Bisons have played their worst games in recent years. Consider this: the Herd is 7-7-2 over the last four years against both the Evil Monkeys and the Hørny Ønes.
This is as good a time as any to look at the new Lethbridge line-up:
Goaltenders:
29 Jack Burgart - 4 - Bemidji State (NCAA)
33 Nikolas Amundrud - 1 - Rosetown (Sr AAA)
35 Taz Burman - 2 - Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL)
Defencemen:
2 Danny Gatenby - 1 - Nanaimo (BCHL)
3 Dallas Valentine - 3 - Kamloops (WHL)
4 Joshua Patrician - 1 - Humboldt (SJHL)
5 Jeff Rayman - 3 - Vancouver (WHL)
7 Spenser Jensen - 5 - Moose Jaw (WHL)
19 Taylor Fisher - 3 - Selkirk (MJHL)
25 Cameron Trott - 3 - Alaska-Anchorage (NCAA)/ Vernon (BCHL)
44 Evan Wardley - 4 - Seattle (WHL)
Forwards:
6 Russell Maxwell LW - 4 - Seattle (WHL)
8 Ryan Chynoweth LW - 4 - Lloydminster (AJHL)
9 Dalton Sward C - 5 - Vancouver (WHL)
11 George King RW - 1 - Melfort (SJHL)
12 Jared Janke C - 1 - Campbellton (MHL)
14 Kyle Gordon LW - 1 - Okotoks (AJHL)
16 Landon Gross LW - 2 - Olds (AJHL)
17 Josh Borynec LW - 1 - Melville (SJHL)
18 Owen Guenter RW - 1 - Humboldt (SJHL)
20 Brooks Maxwell C - 3 - Red Deer (WHL)
21 Torrin White RW - 4 - Langley (BCHL)
22 Jordan Roy LW - 2 - Fort McMurray (AJHL)
24 Luke Coleman LW - 1 - Calgary (WHL)
26 Michael Clarke C - 1 - Humboldt (SJHL)
27 Michael Grant RW - 2 - Nipawin (SJHL)
34 MacKenzie Mindus LW - 1 - Grand Falls (MHL)
Departures:
4 Blake Orban D
11 Logan Mick LW
12 Sam McKecknie C
17 Clint Filbrandt D
19 Justin Valentino LW
25 Cameron Trott D
28 Derek Brown C
29 Garret Hughson G
33 Jonny Hogue G
34 Connor Sanvido C
47 Artsiom Kalashnikov F
Like the Bisons, this is a huge recruiting class. On paper at least, it is a much weaker one. They have lost their top scorer (Valentino) and two more of their top ten (McKechnie and Sanvido). Filbrandt and Orban were the core of their defence. Hughson was their starting goaltender. They also lost AK-47!
They have to pray that one or more goaltenders answers the call. Taz (back for his second season) had four WHL seasons and then finished in the BCHL. Amundrud's WHL career ended 4 years ago. Since then he has had two seasons in Junior A and one in Senior AAA. Burgart is transferring from Bemidji, where he played 3 games the last 3 years.
The defence lost quality, but still has six returnees. The two Junior A recruits are a cut below the players they replace.
Up front, the best recruits are Coleman and Clarke. Coleman has had 4 full seasons in the WHL and scored 20 goals last year. Clarke never played major junior, but did rack up the points in Junior A (28-43-71 in 57 games last year).
All-in-all, I don't see the Hørny Ønes improving much if at all on their 20 points from a year ago. Their pre-season record would indicate this. They lost twice to Red Deer College of the ACAC (3-2 in overtime and 6-3) and two more times to Mount Royal (6-0 and 3-2).
However, the CW coaches' poll (linked) has them tied with the Bisons in 7th. Here's the final vote total:
1. Alberta Golden Bears - 49 (7)
2. Saskatchewan Huskies - 41
3. Calgary Dinos - 36 (1)
4. UBC Thunderbirds - 29
5. Mount Royal Cougars - 28
6. Regina Cougars - 15
7. Lethbridge Pronghorns - 13
8. Manitoba Bisons – 13
My picks are:
1. Alberta
2. Calgary
3. Saskatchewan
4. Mount Royal
5. Manitoba
6. UBC
7. Regina
8. Lethbridge
I will look at each team in the CW in the upcoming days to compelete the outlooks.

The Mutts finished first a year ago before losing the conference final to the Evil Monkeys. That still qualified them for the nationals where once again their only wins were against OUA teams. En route, they eliminated the Bluegars in the CW semi-finals. So this presents as a redemption weekend for the Bluegars.
MRU had respectable pre-season results, a split against Bedrock U and a sweep of Lethbridge. Meanwhile, Sask played just two games, edging out Regina before being shutout by Alberta.

Bedrock U had a very good pre-season, in fact the best one in the CW in my opinion. They started by sweeping aside Red Deer College, then went on to win single games against Regina and Manitoba while gaining splits against MRU and Alberta. There is no doubt that Mr. Slate has put a lot of effort into getting the Dinos ready for the season with 8 games. If they want to finally break through into the Top Two they'll need a pair of wins in road series like this one.
ALBERTA GOLDEN BEARS (0-0-0, 5-1-0, OHT35 n/a)
U.B.C. THUNDERBIRDS (0-0-0, 3-3-1, OHT35 n/a)
Links:

➤ UBC: [T-Birds open Canada West season against defending champs]
The Evil Monkeys lost a load of good players. However, they also had an impressive and bountiful set of recruits. Things took a turn, however, when newly recruited goaltender Griffen Outhouse signed an AHL deal with the Manitoba Moose. The Apes had three decisive wins in pre-season (6-2 over UBC, 6-1 over Manitoba, and 4-0 over Sask) and three close ones (two of which were OTWs).
The T-irds' only two games against CW opposition were those two against Alberta. Otherwise, they won their games against BCIHL and ACAC teams whilst losing their games against NCAA teams. UBC was the last CW team to update their roster page, so I have not looked into their roster too much. However, I have noticed that they have been short-staffed in the pre-season, dressing as few as 15 skaters in some games.

Sept 27: Six CW Teams Start Regular Season
Due to a football game between Canada's Team – the Hamilton Tiger-Cats – and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Bison home opener series was pushed back to Saturday/Sunday.
I have updated the “Live Links” to reflect that the UMFM audio feed will be on the second stream both nights. Also, the links should be for Saturday and Sunday, rather than Friday and Saturday. The “Other Links” have added another story from the U of M and a series preview from the U of L.

This was close throughout but the Bluegars assumed control in the 3rd, outshooting the Banjo Mutts 11-5 to take the win. Riley Morris stopped 19 of 23 to claim the win and Taran Kozun stopped 26 of 31 to suffer defeat. Jesse Lees and Connor Rankin scored twice each for MRU. I had these teams pegged as #3 and #4 so a close game was expected.

The British Californians held 2-0 and 3-1 leads but could not hold on. I was focused on the MRU-Sask encounter and then saw the end of this one. The Evil Monkeys seemed to be in charge when I was watching. Grayson Pawlenchuk scored the tying and winning goals. Brendan Burke stopped 19 of 22 to get the win and Rylan Toth stopped 34 of 38 for the T-irds. Each side had two PP goals on 4 attempts.

So, after this game I tried staying away for an all-night viewing of Rugby World Cup from Japan. But, alas, I fell asleep before saving my post. So here it is as I watch the stream of Australia-Wales.
The Bison recruits in goal and on defence were blue-chip this off-season, and it showed in their season opener. They outshot the Hørny Ønes 37-26 and had control of the game from the outset. When the Horns did get shots, they seldom were able to turn it into sustained pressure. It was generally a one-and-done situation. Riley Lamb posted the shut-out in his CW debut.
On the offence, a pair of sophomores avoided the jinx. Jeremey Leipsic got his goal in the opening minute of the second period. Defenceman Mitchell Dyck got his first goal in the CW in the opening minute of the third. Jameson's line with Wasylak and Leipsic scored both goals.
Here's how they lined up:

Bedrock U is looking good so far. This was a battle of rookie goaltenders. The Dinos had Brodan Salmond (stopped 16 of 17) and the Banjo Cats had Curtis Meger (stopped 35 of 40). Matt Alfaro scored twice and added an assist for the Dinos, giving him 4 goals and 3 assists on a very productive weekend.

The Banjo Mutts lost just 3 games last year. They could have that many this year before they sit down for crawdads and possum shanks for Thanksgiving. I called Sask to slip and MRU to rise, but this sweep and decisive scoreline is shocking. The shots were almost even (30-29 in favour of the Bluegars). The teams stuck with their starting goaltenders, and Riley Morris' 27 saves on 29 shots got him a “W”. For the Mangy Mutts, Taran Kozun stopped 18 of 24 and was yanked after that 6th goal. 2nd year backup Travis Child then stopped 5 of 6 shots. Leading the offence were Riley Lindgren (with a hattrick) and Chris Gerrie (with a pair). Of note, the Bluegars were 3-for-7 on the PP.

Matt Berlin, another rookie goaltender, made his debut with a shutout for the Evil Monkeys. This was a one-sided win, following Friday's overtime encounter. The Apes were led by Ryan Jevne and Trevor Cox, each with a goal and a pair of assists. Berlin made 20 saves for the win, and Rylan Toth stopped 33 of 38 shots in the loss. The T-irds line-up shows just 15 skaters and a goaltender dressed for the game.

An afternoon game after a night game sometimes produces an odd, offensive game. And this was one of those.
The Bisons made two roster changes, starting Brown over Lamb in goal and Apetagon took over from Barley in the forwards. The Hørny Ønes shifted the defense pairings a bit but dressed the same 20 players.
The penalties were ultimately the difference. Lethbridge was 2-for-6 on the PP and the Bisons broke even, going 1-for-5 and giving up a shorthanded goal. Each side also had a goal waived off.
After each side had an early goal, the Bisons never got untracked once the penalties started kicking in. Veloso scored on a break-away mid-period. But within seconds of a PP ending, Guenter squeezed one under Brown's pads to tie the game. That save which somehow trickles through the pads seems to be Brown's problem area. It happened on this goal, the one waived off, and in the pre-season.
The 2nd period saw Lethbridge take the lead on a point shot. Wasylak tied it on a one-timer to the top shelf, and Henry gave the Bisons on a scramble upon the end of a PP. A PP deflection allowed the Horns to tie the game at 4-4 after two.
After being out-of-synch for two periods, the Bisons did get it together in the 3rd. But not until after a sloppy line change on a PP in the opening minute provided Maxwell and Lethbridge an opportunity to take the lead. This was the second such occurrence in the game.
The CW has a bye week next. The Bisons are headed to the Excited States for some non-conference play. On Oct 11-12 the Bisons are on the Road against MRU. The next home series is Oct 18-19 against Calgary.

I already posted my look at the MRU roster a while back. Both sides were in the Excited States last week, and each picked up a point. The Bluegars had the more impressive pre-season and also managed a sweep of the Banjo Mutts in Saskatown to start the season. I picked them for #4 in the CW, myself.

Oct 12: Bisons Rebound for a Split
The Bisons played in one of three matinees today. I'm not a big fan of Saturday afternoon games myself. Although I could see why the travelling team would much sooner play an earlier game. Now that each team has played one series at home and one on the road, here's how Saturday night went.

A split on the road at MRU is probably going to be looked upon as a pretty good weekend for the vast majority of teams as this season wears on. This win gives the Herd consecutive splits (2-2-0) and is the first blemish on the Bluegars' record (3-1-0).
The game was an oddity in that the Bluegars were running up the shot clock, however the Bisons were able to respond with odd-man rushes. As on Friday night, the teams swapped leads from time to time. However, the Bisons pulled ahead for good in the 2nd period, where they scored four goals, the last three unanswered, to take a 5-2 lead into the 3rd. The official stats say that the 3rd period shots were 17-1 in favour of MRU, which seems incorrect. In any event, MRU could draw back two goals but that was all.
The Bisons were again upset with the officials. MRU had two 5-on-3 powerplays and in this one Jonah Wasylak got the 10 minute misconduct for arguing. In the end, MRU was 3-for-8 on the PP and the Bisons were 2-for-5. However, it must be noted that the first Bison goal came 2 seconds after a PP expired so it was basically generated by PP pressure.
Riley Lamb got the win, and it appears that he has won the starter's job. He stopped 37 of 41 shots. Riley Morris suffered the loss with 6 saves on 11 shots through two periods. He was yanked in favour of Wyatt Hoflin in the 3rd period, and he stopped the lone shot credited.
Quick Summary
1st 13:54 MC Lees (3) ASST: Kennedy (PP)
1st 19:30 MB Leipsic (2) ASST: Veloso Henry
2nd 0:23 MB Veloso (2) ASST: Keane Henry (PP)
2nd 6:26 MC Lindgren (5) ASST: Lees Chartier (PP)
2nd 8:35 MB Dalke (2) ASST: Thiessen Tripp
2nd 11:43 MB Carlson (2) ASST: Henry Halvorsen
2nd 14:46 MB Keane (1) ASST: Jameson Leipsic (PP)
3rd 0:12 MC Jensen (1) ASST: Richards Iverson
3rd 4:54 MC Lees (4) ASST: Rankin (PP)
As you can see, Colton Veloso returned to the Bison lineup and found his way into the scoring stats.
Next Friday the Bisons return home to face the Bedrock Dinos, whilst MRU will visit the Evil Monkeys.

The T-irds had a 4-1 lead 12 minutes into the 2nd period. Then Mr. Slate must have devised a comeback strategy. Once again, UBC had just 16 skaters and two goaltenders dressed. They were 4-for-5 on the PP! Matthew Greenfield stopped 24-of-28 for the win, and Rylan Toth stopped 32 -of-37 for the loss.
The Bedrock Boys are now 4-0-0 and coming to Winnipeg next weekend. UBC is 0-2-2. However, they have played the two best teams (Alberta and Calgary).

The Banjo Cats once again recorded 41 shots yet lost. That's what happens when you fall behind 7-1 before mounting a comeback. Kyle Gordon scored twice for the Horny Ones. Taz Burman stopped 36-of-41 for the win. Regina again went through two goaltenders. Curtis Meger stopped 12-of-16 before being yanked in the early 2nd period. Brandon Holtby came on in to stop 8-of-11 and was tagged with the loss.
Lethbridge is now doing better than expected, with a record of 3-1-0. At 0-4-0 Regina already has a lot of ground to make up in the 24 remaining games.

As noted, lots of links have yet to be uploaded. I saw this as it was the only evening game. Sask played pretty well, as the overtime aspect would suggest. Nevertheless they are now 0-3-1. At least they are a point ahead of their provincial rival! The Evil Monkeys are 4-0-0. Matt Berlin stopped 24 of 26 shots for the win, and Taran Kozun stopped 34 of 37 for the loss. Fun Fact: Sask was 25-3-0 last year. They are now assured of a worse record after just four games.

In the Town of Bedrock the Dinos are off to the best start of any team in U-Hockey. They have swept Regina (now 0-4-0) and UBC (now 0-2-2). While the Bisons are 2-2-0, their opponents are both now 3-1-0 with, naturally, their only losses coming against the Bisons.
Last year, the Bisons held their own against the Dinos, going 2-2-0. Over the last 4 years, the Bisons are 9-6-1 against Calgary.
The Dinos have 6 players at or above a point-per-game pace: Matt Alfaro (5-4-9), Graham Black (2-6-8), Jordan Xavier (2-4-6), Ryan Gagnon (0-6-6), Coda Gordon (1-4-5), and Kaden Elder (2-2-4), all of whom are in the CW's top 20 scorers. Meanwhile, two Bisons are at that level: Adam Henry (1-5-6) and Jeremy Leipsic (2-3-5).
Matthew Greenfield has started 3-of-4 for the Dinos and has impressive stats (3-0-0, .910 S%, 1.89 GAA). Meanwhile, Bison rookie Riley Lamb has taken over the starter's role and has impressive stats himself (2-1-0, .915 S%, 3.03 GAA).
Last weekend, Josh Tripp dressed for his first games as a Bison. That leaves Devon Skoleski and Matthew Leblanc as the only players yet to dress.

The Hørny Ønes are likely satisfied with their record, whilst the Banjo Mutts are bewildered with theirs. I must say that the Mutts did not look bad against the Evil Monkeys last weekend, and they have played two strong teams. But let's face it – they lost twice at home to MRU and the Bisons just split on the road against MRU. The Mutts need 4 points here.

The Bluegars are off to a nice start. However, in the last 4 years, the Evil Monkeys are 15-1-0 against MRU. And the Monkeyes aren't looking too shabby so far, either. This is a home-and-home series. Are MRU deserving of my praise? This series will go a long way in categorizing them.

Both sides are winless, true, but the T-irds cannot be criticized too much. They have played the top two teams in the OHT35, so 0-2-2 is not bad. The Banjo Cats have some room for optimism, since they recorded 41 shots in each game last weekend. Both sides are desperate for points. UBC holds a massive 13-3 edge over Regina in the last four years.
