Bruh c'mon with this...
Point had 92 points this year. Mitts probably won't have that as his career total by the end of next year. - Sabresfan-365
35th in points since he came into the league. 5 less than Eichel with a similar amount of ice time. |

But you just said it, they could just move the secondary players to keep point. It's only outlandish because an opportunity exists for Tampa Bay to keep Point with their core.
If the secondary guys were making 5 mil and scoring 5 goals a year, then yeah they're in a bind. - Sabresfan-365
Perhaps.... Just my own wishful optimism lol.
The only roadblock I could see, Stevie Y was often criticized for giving out too many NTCs...
Stamkos, Callahan, Palat, Johnson, Killorn, Hedman, McDonagh, Stralman, Coburn, & Girardi all have them. A lot harder to deal one of them from a 115 pt team and they accept the trade. |

Not sure which is crazier, a contending team like TB dealing a great young player for a pick+ or a re-building, asset starved team dealing their 1st+. It doesn't make sense for either side.

I for sure wouldn't give 7OA + for him. Probably wouldn't even do the 7OA straight up. |

Welcome to Buffalo fandom my man... where every 19 year old is expected to have 55+ points as a rookie 2C. Didn't help that he had 5 pts in 6 games to end the '17 season. |

I've seen fan made scenarios that was like 7OA, McCabe, and Nylander/other asset for Trouba and Ehlers.
I don't think the 7OA would need to be involved for that deal. |

Yeah my point was you'll never get enough value on those kinds of trades. Exhibit A) Ottawa, B) Arizona.. - Sabresfan-365
Exhibit C). Vancouver trades Schneider to NJ for the 9th pick Horvat. |

Don't worry the hockey gods made up for it with them. Trading Larson for Taylor Hall and them winning the hockey lottery TWICE in 3 years from overall away if my memory serves me right. |

I don't think it's crazy it just almost never breaks that teams way. Sure, if you're team was close it'd make sense short term. But if you were close, you probably don't have a top 10 pick. |

They wasted those years looking for...wait for it...a cost controlled centre.
Im guessing if they had to do it over they wouldn't make that deal. |

I'm not a big fan of 19 year old 2C Casey.
I think they should have either let him be 3C or play winger for a year or two like they did with Samson.
I think letting him boss the AHL as a 1C for 25-35 games this year would have been awesome for him too. |

I would assume so...
I know the old saying that you can never have too many centers but seriously... what would drafting another center do for us right now? One of him or Casey would have to play wing right? |

Sure
But my comment was with the thought that Tampa decided to move Point
I believe that they’d want a young center back
They’d be moving their already good 2C now,
for a 2C in 2yrs
For that 2yrs where we’d clearly benefit,
They’d get the benefit of saving like 13mil in Cap Space which they’re in dire need of
That’s why it’s a fair deal
That said...
i believe they’ll just move secondary players and not Point
I was just saying that IF they move Point,
I’m sure they’d want Mitts back |

They'd want a *very good young C back, which im almost certain they could get from several other teams.
13 mil in cap space during their compete window doesn't make up for losing an elite centre and replacing him with someone that might be good. |

if the sabres got him, he would be a 60 pointer scorer and a goat
