He really came on late. He had like 3 points through his first dozen or more games, was really struggling. The light flicked on.

I would wait for camp before I made that determination. I think he is very, very close. Just 2 cents.

Edit: I have Nylander getting a spot, Asplund and Borgen as first call ups. Now that the NFL draft is over, it's Sabres time again. Been playing Arm Chair GM on twitter daily. )

I meant the folks who just pencil him in there and are probably expecting 25 goals in year 1 in the NHL. Or that he makes Sheary expendable or something.

There is literally a dozen wingers in UFA that could be added to our 2nd or 3rd line to not have to rush VO or Nylander. I personally try to trade Nylander any chance I can get.

Risto, Nylander, and a 2nd for Wild Bill and C. Miller.

I think they've been patient with Olofsson. It's been 6 years since he was drafted and he had a nice season in the A. Putting him on a scoring line seems reasonable. Playing him on the 3rd or 4th line isn't a good use of his skill set imo

I liked Olofsson quite a bit... I was just trying to temper expectations that he could be a top 6 all year and pot 25 goals or score 55 pts. Just never know.

Samson scored more points last season than Jeff Skinner but he gets ZERO credit and the team would fall apart without Skinner according to these boards.

If Tiger wins this does he return to his old form of not talking to anybody and back to focusing on destroying everyone?

But there would have to be other pending moves for the Sabres like moving out Okposo's contract and having a plan to get a 2nd pairing defensemen

I don't want to get all XBox like because we know 5 moves in the offseason won't happen but I think Botterill knows his seat is warming up and he has to make this team substantially better soon

Really can't argue the top. I thought he fit in and I'd give him his shot. Could be too big of a step, you're not wrong.

I agree losing Skinner wouldn't kill us. It's all cap space, we can sign a good player for the money we would've given him.

Samson still needs to take that next step. He is producing more, but I'm waiting for his amazing hockey IQ to turn him into a defensive wizard too. He needs to get better at getting turnovers, then distributing to Jack for a rush.
