What are you seeing in nylander aside from hope?

Lacks effort
Often injured
Not scoring at regularly in the ahl
Not a " away from the puck" guy
8th over 3 years ago already, still a question mark


What am I missing? Aside from hope ?

Being inconsistent, which he is, does not mean he lacks effort, which he doesn't.

He had 26 pts in his final 33 games in the AHL. I would say he scored pretty regularly down there after a slow start based on those stats.

He's been injured yes. That also effects development.

I am not saying that if the right trade came along I wouldn't ship him off, but I can see him turning into a solid middle 6 guy that can play PP. Nothing more than that.

I'm just not too impressed with him , I was hoping he was following in his Brothers footsteps.

Will nylander did not have a good year either
Plus he was playing contract games with management
Bad footsteps that Alex isnt close to filling

If Montour is decently hurt... he probably won't miss the season but just the uncertainty will sit there.

Bogo and Pilut are out for 2 months.

McCabe is rather known to be often injured.

That leaves you with Dahlin, Risto, Scandella, Hunwick, Nelson, and Borgen...

I really can't see them trading Risto unless it is a PERFECT situation deal. It won't be a "we just need to move him and get the best we can" type deal. It would have to be 'we can only get this phenomenal asset if we include Risto" type deal.

To me... if TBL really did like him.. now with Stevie gone that idea could be dead but a deal for Point... I could see Risto included.

He is but he was the Swedish team coach for what is 14 years.... I'm sure he has to speak the language a good amount.

I also realize people don't know how to look at AHL stats. DET fans were calling Mantha a bust a few years ago and now he is their best F outside of Larkin.

Oloffson - 30 goals in 66 games

Yup you had to deal with I4, the outlet mall traffic and all of that on top of it

I live east of the city so the only time I venture that way is when we go to Disney or Universal

BUF doesn't have the assets to acquire Point imo.

Maybe Risto for a Palat + pick type deal.

It could...but I would say it settles out of court and we don't hear about it again. Would restaurants have insurance that cover cases like this?

Right, inconsistent could definitely mean lack of effort in the games where he isnt playing well.

He also lacks effort, as reported by many posters who have been to the ahl games.

Well I am sure you are certain of their AHL usage and I am sure you are comparing players at 2 vastly different stages of their development curve right?

It's difficult. I've seen discussions about projections based on AHL production, but I still don't understand it by any means.

There were rumors at one point that Mantha was on the Sabres radar. You guys said no. Forget what garbage we were shipping you. Good move...

Nylanders game is more made for the nhl he’s just one of those players that play better at a higher level

His most recent play, which is what actually matters, did not lack effort. It's part of the reason he was called up. As Taylor and Botterill said his call-up was deserved.

I think the number one misconception is that these guys are getting tons of ice time. People are already considering Zadina a bust even though he was an 18 year old getting 3rd line ice time.

I'd do it... Point and Eichel is 10x better IMO than Mitts and Eichel look to be at this point in time.
