We actually just called our DirecTV and said we are cancelling and going to Hulu. We see that you guys offer new customers our exact same package for $55 a month and we are done with it. They then immediately said that they will bring our package down from $158 to $65 a month for the next 2 years. No new contracts or anything. Just like that.

I wanted to pay for NHL.tv but it is lesser quality than reddit which is sad. Also hard to commit to something that streams in 720 in the year 2019.

Legitimate question :

When I cut the cord from cable/dish/fios, etc, what are the options for Live Sport Coverage? I am tired of paying for crap channels that I do not watch.

I am basic - just Hockey, Golf and Baseball.

Does anyone know how I can get those live feeds while using the internet, smart TV and streaming services?

They all have direct packages. Golf is the cheapest, I think it's like $60 for the season. I just looked into it as we are considering downgrading our cable package and would lose the golf network. NHL TV will run you about 120 for your favorite team and 150ish for all games. Not sure about the cost of MLB but it is more expensive. With both NHL & MLB you need to be careful of blackout rules. If the Sabres are playing a team that is being shown on my local cable, the NHL TV feed sometimes gets blacked out.

Me and friends just share the stuff.

We have 4 people on our Netflix & Prime accounts.
We have 5 people on our NFL package.
We have 3 people on our NHL package.

We just take the grand total of the packages and divide it up but everyone has log in info to watch them whenever they want.

I have NHL TV which is streamed thru the NHL App on my apple TV or Iphone / Ipad. My local cable has all Rags, Isles, Devils and Bruins games so in previous years if the Sabres were playing any of those teams, the NHL TV feed would be blacked out and I'd have to watch MSG or NESN. But, this year I would always check the NHL TV first and many times the Sabres feed would still be available. Happy with that result, but I am not sure what the 'rules' are anymore.

We did the same thing. But we dropped to the next lowest tier. I only really miss about 2 channels.

Our new bill was so low that we actually had a credit for two months.

I did the same thing with spectrum and got them to agree to a price freeze for 3 years.
