Fair enough

I'm just not too impressed with him , I was hoping he was following in his Brothers footsteps.

Will nylander did not have a good year either
Plus he was playing contract games with management
Bad footsteps that Alex isnt close to filling

Pretty sure Alex is a goner

- Boss34

You could be 100% right. As a matter of fact, I'll even say given his play to date, you're probably being more honest about this. Like I said, was just impressed by his finish to the year.

Hopefully we are both wrong, the light goes on and he's Willie 2.0 in a year after he hits the gym. You see what Willie did in the last worlds game? Jeesh. I wish.

I think the number one misconception is that these guys are getting tons of ice time. People are already considering Zadina a bust even though he was an 18 year old getting 3rd line ice time.
- Feds91Stammer

Not long ago I absolutely LOVED Detroit's prospects with Mantha, Nyquist, Tatar, AA, and I even liked Frk at first. Then Zadina last year too.

Still bitter about Mantha... he was on the board at 16 when we took Zadarov instead. I REALLLLLY wanted Mantha that year.

If Montour is decently hurt... he probably won't miss the season but just the uncertainty will sit there.

Bogo and Pilut are out for 2 months.

McCabe is rather known to be often injured.

That leaves you with Dahlin, Risto, Scandella, Hunwick, Nelson, and Borgen...

I really can't see them trading Risto unless it is a PERFECT situation deal. It won't be a "we just need to move him and get the best we can" type deal. It would have to be 'we can only get this phenomenal asset if we include Risto" type deal.

To me... if TBL really did like him.. now with Stevie gone that idea could be dead but a deal for Point... I could see Risto included.

They are rumored to be ready for the season or shortly after. 5 month recovery.

Well I am sure you are certain of their AHL usage and I am sure you are comparing players at 2 vastly different stages of their development curve right?
- Feds91Stammer

How does pilut and his 30 games at defense and 27 points in his first year compare to nylander in his 3rd year with 31 points?

Different stages of their development.

Pilut 1st year ahl
Nylander 3rd year in the ahl

Guy is the 8th overall pick with 30 goals in 3 years , but you're seeing what you want

Just was curious. I know everyone is high on Dahlin just didn't know how high.
- Feds91Stammer

Dahlin around here is a future Norris winner, franchise cornerstone, and future Hedman/Weber/Subban/Doughty type piece of the future.

We do not put him in trade scenarios... lol.

Eichel could be had for some outrageous price.

Dahlin can't be.

He needs to grow and develop but yeah, I think any trade with Dahlin headed the other way causes riots in B-Lo.

Frk hasn't gotten a legit shot. He is easily a bottom 6 NHLer with PP specialist ability with his one timer.

I am most excited to see what Veleno turns into.

Is that what you read? I had read that they wouldn't be ready to even skate/condition until almost a month into the season. Missing all of camp would put them behind quite a bit IMO.

His most recent play, which is what actually matters, did not lack effort. It's part of the reason he was called up. As Taylor and Botterill said his call-up was deserved.
- TheSabresTaco

Oh, the early goals in the season don't count as much as the goals later in the season theory?

He got called up, because they needed to at least take a look at him. Look at all the guys that have been called up before him the past few seasons.

It's sad, I'm sure he is disappointed in his play

But you're fine with it

Mike Weber, Tyler Ennis and a 2nd for Veleno?

Don't say no now, think about it.

Again you are comparing guys with 3 years in age difference which is the most important factor here. Not sure why you think I am on Team Nylander either

See now this is just rude. I know I mentioned Dahlin in a trade but it was in good faith.

Nylanders game is more made for the nhl he’s just one of those players that play better at a higher level
- gerbe75pts

Pretty sure we discussed before the season nylanders 2018-19 predictions

You - just wait until my boy plays with Jack this year. He will prove you all wrong.

Me- nylander is a bust and sucks . He barely sniffed the 5th worst nhl team. A team desperate for scoring wingers

I'd love to compare nylander to another 8th overall nhl pick who's played 3 full seasons in the ahl.

Having a hard time finding a comparison for some reason?

30 goals in 3 years. Sometimes stats are misleading for sure. Not sure how this is misleading. Rochester has surrounded nylander with pretty good players around him too.

Some food for thought.

There were 60 AHL Fs with 30+ GP under the age of 21 this past season.

Nylander was 9th in P1/GP

A players draft spot should be irrelevant as soon as they are drafted. He is a prospect not an 8th overall pick.
