Because that's a strong fourth line.

The more interesting question to me is...why don’t you think it would be a strong 4th line?

Just asked a simple question is all.

Nothing suggest to me it will be “strong”. Solid maybe

For me it doesn’t have to be those 3 exactly, but rather that the team has good depth to roll all 4 lines and scoring from all 4 lines.

Why are people so enamored with a raffle- Laughton - Hartman line?

Well if all 3 play together on the 4th pretty much exclusively how much scoring from them can one really expect from them?

In all seriousness, I think they are 3 solid players that could handle the 4th line role. It seems the past few years we always had 1-2 fourth liners that were suspect. Raffl, Laughton, and Hartman have proved their value and each could play a line or two up in the line-up. Having them as the fourth line would be a nice luxury. PK time for all 3.

Of course, if we are looking at outside players that could contribute to our fourth line, then I'd say there are probably better options. But, IMO, that is a solid line.

Who would have thought the simultaneous injury of David Krejci in game 3 (great check by Richie) combined with the return of Simon Gagne, would lead to the greatest comeback series in the history of the Flyers. Its funny when you look back and think of all the things that happened that allowed us to come back in thats series

I was so upset when Savard scored in OT in game one.

...from the last thread

No guess as to how it will all shake out with adding a center or wing, but I do think Patrick did have chemistry with Lindblom.

- NC Flyers Fan

I agree that Lindblom and Patrick has pretty good chemistry. The best I thought Patrick played on last season was the Patrick, Simmonds, Laughton line. They didn’t score a tone (if at all) but they were hard working and didn’t get scored on. You would have to think that if Patrick was playing with legit scores on a line like that, the offense would have translated. Which is why I make the argument to get another scoring winger to play with Patrick, to support Patrick, not push him further back in the line up.

Last night the Blues had a 4th line of Barbashev centering Maroon and Steen.
That isn't as good as Raffl, Laughton, Hartman.

I do think Hartman is a good player. On this team he’s probably a third line player but on a contender, I think he’s a fourth liner. Ryan Hartman reminds me of a better offensively Darrel Powe.

Just goal totals...minimum of 25 and max 40. I don’t have a comparison handy for you...if that total is better than we had from the 4th line this season? ...how does that compare to “solid” 4th lines around the league? Idk

Agreed. It also means we likely added talent to the top 9 to push those guys down the depth chart. I think we will all be happy if that ends up as our 4th line. Even Rinaldo.. I mean daryl.

im a big proponent of giving patrick more talented linemates, but also keep him on the third line. i like a third line of Lindblom-Patty-Konecny. not only would this solidify the bottom 6 if theoretically you have Raffl-Laughts-Hartman as the 4th, but this would also force Chuck to go out and get 2 two top six forwards. I would love a dual signing of say Brock Nelson/Skinner, or Duchene/Nelson, or Duchene/Lee to pair with Jake on the second line. Even Hayes (on the right deal) centering Skinner and Jake would be a solid 2nd line, and then of course have JVR-Coots-G up top.

those are 4 lines you could roollllllllllll

I humbly disagree.

Let’s not get carried away. Steen, Maroon and Barbashev are a testament of how deep the Blues are. Steen and Maroon both had better seasons than Raffl and Hartman. Heck, Maroon was thanking the heavens and his line mates for helping him turn around his career and he still had a better season than Raffl and Hartman.

Bottom line, the Blues fourth line is playing hockey and our fantasy fourth line isn’t.

Are you asking to sign three forwards to create a good second line?

Just bit the bullet and moved from row 4 blueline to row 2 upstairs goal line. I am really going to miss my hockey neighborhood. But I'm sure there are nice people in 203. And with me retiring next year, the money is a big deal.

Based on all of them can chip in offensively, play a heavy game, kill penalties, and would not be a liability if caught out with a better line matchup.

Yea trolling per usual, still take that Blues line over our hypothetical one. Fourth lines for playoff teams can be deceiving though. Free agents or rentals in the lineup pushes guys down.

What about his comment was obvious that it was sarcasm? You don’t think he’s serious but you don’t know, do you?
