That's some Carolina Hurricanes level shooting luck.

Help us Justin Williams, you're our only hope.

Wait, wrong series. But same thing, they must have had storm troopers take over after the first 3 arrows.

Yeah but now we're just being petty. If everyone can see it happening, do you really need an extra couple episodes to lay it out?

Yes, it was rushed, but if you needed more build up you weren't really paying attention in the first place.

- BINGO!

it’s not being petty to have expectations for the showrunners to keep in line with everything that came beforehand. as i mentioned in my long initial post, i honestly have no issue with season 7 - only in hindsight knowing what i know now do i feel it should’ve been 10 episodes. nevertheless, i still feel there wasn’t anything overtly wrong or overly rushed with it compared to the first six seasons.

but season 8 totally wipes all that away for the sake of getting to the end.

-why has Tyrion, who for 6 seasons proven himself as one of the most intelligent and cunning people in the world, suddenly become completely inept at strategy or foresight? yes, we all make mistakes and sometimes it’s easy to underestimate your enemies. but he knows Cersei’s cruelty and mastery of manipulation better than anyone, yet takes her at her word just cuz she’s pregnant? he immediately tells Varys about Jon, then turns around and gets Varys killed and feels bad about it? i mean the list goes on.

-why, in episode 4, is one dragon taken down with ridiculous precision, 3 for 3 on arrow hits, and yet in the very next episode Drogon is magically immune to arrows? either that or overnight the Lannister armies/Iron Fleet go from masters of archery precision to totally inept at even getting off a shot

-why does Dany’s decision feel so snap-like instead of correctly fleshed out?

-why did the Whytes have literally NO ROLE during the Long Night battle? we’ve seen them at the Hardhom, we’ve seen them multiple times before. and yet in the ultimate battle against mankind they have ZERO role to play? seriously? not to mention, our big bad is taken out far too easily after 7 years of buildup. i love that arya got him, but that battle should’ve been 2 episodes long, and much more dramatic, not to mention maybe not filmed in complete darkness (yah, i get why they did that, but for like half the episode it was near impossible to tell wtf was going on).

-why is the master of whispers, who’s served 5-6 kings, more than any man alive, and who has eyes & ears EVERYWHERE, who has managed to be conniving and more slippery than even Littlefinger, suddenly the least careful person alive?? obviously the endgame was for him to die, but he went from genius plotter to complete moron in a heartbeat.

...also, why would Tyrion and Varys - again, two of the most intelligent people in the series, carefully weighing information as Dany’s advisors, both take Sansa at her word about Jon as absolute truth, no questions asked?? sure, they’d certainly consider what she said, and use that information in some manner, but at the very least they’d somehow confirm it for themselves. get the journal from Sam; dig deeper. none of their snap judgements
or decisions or accepting it as absolute truth without question fall in line with their arcs or prior development.

I actually enjoyed this blog from RW, even though I have not seen one single episode of GOT. I see where RW is coming from, but it falls short in one regard:

Any TV show, movie franchise, whatever, has an ending at some point. But a sports franchise has to do everything in its power to stay alive forever (preferably without sucking). And in the NHL, the salary cap makes it that much harder.

I wasn't a YUGE supporter of the Reaves trade... which is supposedly when GMJR began to see things differently… but I wasn't totally against it either. And Sully hardly using him just made things worse. The Pens were getting beat up a bit, and it seemed the rest of the league was catching up to the Pens' speed game, as well.

lol, i don’t dislike the bruins. (frank) the sharks and them being handed not one but two game 7’s. for as much as i dislike the blues, i’m a temporary fan of them atm.

She was the Breaker of chains. Turned down offers from slave masters to give her gold and an army to sail to Westeros to reclaim her throne, because she wanted to end slavery and help people. You are right that she ALMOST commited war crimes every couple of episodes but she didn't...driving the development of the character. In the last 2 episodes she's acting like a teenage insecure psychopathic murderer. Now, I get the point you're making about the foreshasowing of her "crazy" but that seemed overtly rushed and would have been nice if her spiral downward would have at least been a progression rather than the feeling like the flicking a switch. Anyway that's my thoughts.

Yeah but they built her up to be a fan fav over time and the best candidate to rule.....The script is just not good this season and they completely ruined Jamie's character in like 3 episodes. Why does everyone need a love story? Havent seen episode 5 yet but I am ready to wrap it up and move on.

script isn’t as good b/c source material is gone. feels like they sat down with GRRM and basically took cliffnotes of how he plans on ending it. wrote those in as the major plotlines, and tried to work out from there.

e5 is a visual spectacle but further betrays arcs and plotlines; e6 is an utter sh*tshow if the leaks are to be believed (which, thus far, have been 100% on point). is what it is, at least the books are hopefully coming, maybe, lol.

ok, i’m done ranting. back to hockey i promise.

I think Tyrion has been (frank)ing up for quite a few seasons. I mean he’s the reason her first dragon got killed. He talked her into going to find a white walker beyond the wall.

The scorpions were definitely a mishap. Inconsistent as (frank).

The long night had its moments but was all in all a failure in my opinion too. 7 seasons of build up for... that fight??? Ouch.

I feel like that’s what GoT does best though. Builds things up and tears them down. They built her up to be a fan favorite and completely crushed their audience. I actually enjoyed her becoming the Mad Queen.

Not arguing that.....it's the out of character stuff like Jamie acting like a clumsy teenager with Breanne.....and that whole side story was a waste of time anyway. Same with Greyworm.....Hes a straight up soldier....all you need to know. Did anyone really care what happened to his GF?

omfg i don’t even wanna hear it, assuming you’re a detroit fan (if not then disregard but my message remains for all other DET fans).

damn team wasn’t phased by the cap; maintained a ridiculous dynasty (or at least dynasty-esque) for years after, didn’t miss the playoffs for what was it, 20+ years or some such nonsense?

it’s way past time they sucked for a while.

avs time to shine now, tyvm ;-)

Meh, when you know you’re in a rebuild and you don’t expect whacky rumors to come to fruition, you really don’t expect much to happen. You can shift your focus elsewhere.

Waiting to see if all this malarky happens is grueling
