Using the names to compare the situations doesn't mean that the poster thinks the names are equal. He made it obvious.
You can compare the situations without comparing the players. If someone mistakes that comparison for something it isn't that isn't the posters fault, that's on the one who made the mistake. Especially when it was so obvious what the comparison was. - burn
yes, actually it does.
You keep dancing around this "situation" semantic.
The "situation", in this case, involves specific players.
I ask you again, if we are not comparing the consequences of trading specific players then why use names?

MVP was 2 years ago I think, not that it matters. 🤷🏻♂️ - Garnie
I had no idea he ever was the MVP
I just remember that he just about had his head taken off in one of these tournaments (I think it was him?) so I am not a huge fan of the tournaments themselves ... except the Olympics

Scored the game winner, or something like that. I don’t think he was point leader for the tourney or anything. Not 100%, don’t watch that hockey usually. |

leafs shouldn't have traded morgan klimchuk since he wasn't up to his max trade value.. - MaximusAurelius
About max trade value - not such a bad thing Max. In North America they have these shady PAY DAY Loans places with big yellow signs. You can get an advance on your pay if you can't wait for the paycheck to arrive. It's surly one of the best ways to reduce your net worth - kind of like the way Chia pet handled things.

He mentioned a situation. He never compared the 2 players specifically, only their situations.
No one is dancing around anything. It has been mentioned several times. The ones who made the mistake of saying he's comparing the players specifically (when is is obvious it wasn't ) are the ones that keep this going.
It was a comparison of situations. |

last year Leafs (Dubas and co.) had the chance to sell relatively high on Nylander.
Nylander + for a guy like Provorov would have been great value for the Leafs as a team.
last year I mentioned players like Seth Jones, Provorov as a starting points for RHD.
since I didn't think that was a realistic scenario, it would have made more sense to trade Nylander for a LW for Matthews line - I actually suggested the Calgary Tkachuk.
In general the Nylander supporters were laughing about that proposal, saying 'Nylander has much more value than Tkachuk'.
Right now, I think most would love such a deal for the Leafs.
So yes, Nylander's value might be less than last season.
Doesn't mean that his value ever will be much higher though.
In addition, trading Nylander + for a LW for Matthews still makes sense, even if the + has to be much more now than last year.
Leafs need to make sure That Matthews gets equal support as Tavares - seems not proper team management to have such a good player as MAtthews, and then not make sure he has good linemated. (and no, I don't think Nylander is much of a great teammate for Matthews - it's just Matthews inflating Nylander's numbers (like he did this season with Johnsson). |

Tell me this.
What were the "situations" he was comparing.
Your response should be interesting.

I don't think the Leafs should trade Kapanen because what if the Bruins traded Tyler Seguin after he only got 22 points in his first year.

I do recall people debating that Nylander > Marner
I also recall Vancouver fans thinking we should trade Nylander+ for Tanev. |

It's too bad Ben Johnson got busted for steroids. Just like last week when Shack67 lost his job at the 7-eleven for showing up high at work one day. |

Calgary wouldn't have traded Tkachuk for Nylander anyways..

Looking back, it is unfortunate that the Leafs lost Lupul for a couple years due to injury. I mean, how many cups did the Penguins when Crosby was concussed.

You don't see Nylander disappearing in the playoffs like Marner did.

Also Ralph Krueger to Buffalo? Does this make sense at all? Can someone explain what he brings to the table that Dan Bylsma and Phil Housley didn't?
Genuine questions. |

Not surprising considering he still wants Keefe's head for something he did 20 years ago while under the wing of a manipulative player agent adult figure. |
