I think this is going be closer than what the polls are reporting, Carney got a huge Trump boost and that hurt Poilievre because he is a mini Trump, now Trump hasn’t been as prominent and Poilievre and his Trumpets have been saturating the airwaves with his “Change” jingle. It just feels like it will be very close by Monday evening.

I'm curious to see where Quebec goes. Blanchet's comments where very Trumpy. Then there's talk of a Lib Ontario sweep, including Poilievre's own riding as ASL mentioned. That's fucking nuts if true. But there's been some dirty tricks this election, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a planted story.

If the Cons lose again, I think they may have to split the party in two and go back to the Reform and PC days.

They just need to become more of what they used to be. There's a PPC party for all the voters that want an alt right country.

It will definitely be a study on polling techniques. I read all these polls showing Libs as favourites. Some have even suggested a majority. If the Cons win, the polling industry will have to rethink how they conduct business.

Whatever happens, probably see several party leaders losing their jobs after this campaign. The bloc, NDP, Greens, even Libs and Cons. I can’t see Carney staying on if he loses. Can the Cons stick with PP if he loses what should have been a cakewalk to the PM’s office?

While the winner will be focused on rebuilding the Canadian economy, the losers will be focused on rebuilding their parties and brands.

Even though we don’t vote directly for our PM, this is the first federal election I can remember that is specifically a referendum on the party leaders and not on the individual MP’s. It’s been all Carney and all PP all the time.

This would be the best scenario for real conservative minded people, but not the maga reformists, they would be back to a fringe party.

The outcome as well as the individual party futures will make for interesting news fodder.
I hope Poilievre loses his riding, probably not happening but it’s still dare to dream. It will be interesting to see if Carney stays on if there is a loss, and what type of loss, one seat with support from NDP could really make things interesting…again.
Will the radical reformers be happy with Poilievre if he loses after such a massive lead, might just kick his ass to the curb and go for another puppet leader.
Fun times could be ahead.

Got here (Salt Spring Island) end of November. My kid and his new wife decided to move to Vancouver and we don’t any family left in Ontario, so…..

I remembered seeing the Gulf Islands on the ferry to Victoria so I started checking them out and seeing what was available. We came here for days in May, decided to move here, went home and got our house ready to sell. We came back out for a few days in September after we sold and bought a place.

Since we’re old as poop, this place works well (except for no docs)

Beautiful Island, some great areas, what part of the island did you settle. Also get a boat you won’t regret it.

Yeah thanks, we love it. We’re above Vesuvius, up at the top of Channel Ridge so we look over the Sound and down Samsun Narrows and have the woods and trails for dog walking behind us.

I’d love to get a boat. I’m pretty envious of all the boaters I see below us. I also get an irrational kick out of seeing the ferry go back and forth.

Nice area, I used to run boats from Pat Bay up to Crofton and then up through Poilier Pass across to Vancouver Harbour or up the Fraser, just love the Gulf Islands.

Had to check the maps but I guess that explains some of the traffic I see. Sounds like a wild gig. What kind of boats?

His little "I am Nova Scotian" meme was pretty good. I'm a big fan of his. I like his brand of conservatism.

This is so, so true and a number of us who are centre-right progressive conservatives dislike PP greatly because he's too alt-right Albertian. I consider the current Conservative regime more of an Alberta separatist party like the Bloc.

Funny thing, regardless who won, we were getting an Albertian PM.
