PP was very dumb to snub the non Preston Manning type cons when he was riding high.

I grew up in the old PC party and worked in Bob Stanfield’s office. The hard right/centrist split was always there but other leaders were strong enough to manage the splits and the right parts weren’t as vile as the group running things now. Even the Alberta Tories were mostly somewhat reasonable.

Then the Reform party gained traction out west and everything changed once the parties merged.

It would be pretty funny if the Liberals took Singh's and Pollievre's ridings. It would be a big message to both of those parties.

I'm pretty sure I said months ago that the NDP vote would crater and the Liberals would win the election.

I'd go an backread but Lefty destroyed the thread in a temper tantrum.

I went to my municipal council meeting tonight because there was an issue on the agenda I was interested in but I had to sit through over an hour of pickleball.

And WTF, Jamil Jivani is a dead ringer for an Orc from Peter Jackson’s LOTR.

Had to check the maps but I guess that explains some of the traffic I see. Sounds like a wild gig. What kind of boats?
- Canada Cup

I operated several different types of vessels, worked at sea for many years and then took a gig taking crews to different areas all over coastal bc to conduct various needs, shoreline surveys, federal infrastructure repair/establishment, science, environmental, each vessel depended on the need.

So what happens if the Bloc aligned with Pee Pee to form a majority, right now Carney can’t get enough with the NDP, what would the Governor General do in a case like this?

I’m not super knowledgeable on the process so anyone able to educate me?

If the Bloc align with Reform and it gives them 172 votes in the house then PeePee is the PM.
If.
Edit: the Bloc could also align with the Liberals, whoever offers them the most could be the PM.

I doubt it would happen because either party forming government with the Bloc would be political suicide.

However, I don't think they can outright govern but they could pass bills.

The only hope is that the conservative and liberal parties can put their differences aside and focus on what they have in common, which is substantial.

That is horrible to contemplate, period, but he needs to also win his riding, hopefully not.

Party with plurality is given opportunity to form government and attempt to operate in HofC. Carney would bring in a Throne Speech that offers something to all the opposition parties except Cons. It’s then up to them to decide whether to vote non confidence which either gives PP opportunity to do the same or results in a new election.

I think any party, other than the Yahoos, would want to avoid being seen as causing chaos when poop is still going down with Trump. I’d also be surprised if Bloq would want to support PP anyway

He's a weasel, but at least he acknowledged he has to work with Carney and the other parties as a united government.

I watched Duceppe say an hour ago that when he was Bloc leader he only cared about what he could get for his party and would work with any party to achieve that.

They'd likely hold a by-election in a safe riding

The Bloc's objective is to protect and advance Quebec's interests primarily with the welfare of Canada being second fiddle. Most BQ leaders understand that a healthy Canada leads to a healthy Quebec.

It's political suicide for Carney or Pollievre to side with the Bloc and cater to them exclusively because it would crush them at the next election.
