Have you asked your wife?
- A_SteamingLombardi

No, but she also would take less work with same income. Problem is she works two jobs, sometimes 65-70 hours per week.

70 hours over five days? Or is it over seven? Either way, that’s not right. No way should anyone work a 70 hour week just to make a middle-class income. Christ, even farmers don’t work a 70 hour week.

I'm self employed with two businesses and I've worked 85 hr weeks but I've also worked 4 hr weeks, it's great to have that freedom, I've been bought out of one of the businesses, just waiting to get paid.

We've all had times in our lives working crazy hours but it shouldn't be the norm. 85 hours a week is essentially living to work and that's not healthy. There's more to life than earning money through never-ending hard labour.

I think that's been the point of this entire discussion. I'm hoping everyone believes that a healthy balance between work and play is essential to lead a fulfilling life.

It's not hard labour and it's in the basement, no commute less stress which is the best part, I find it hard to believe some people work 8 hrs a day and then commute and hour to and from work and you're not getting paid for that time, 10 hours a week wasted.

Exactly. That's why the workforce is demanding that jobs be flexible enough to allow work from home (I'm talking about office job type of environment). If an employer refuses to allow work from home then they can expect less skilled people applying for positions.

Yeah it's really about the quality of life. I had a friend who bitched about his job for 20 years, every time he complained I told him to quit after 20 years he finally quit, now he's building houses on spec and loving his life, now I tell him why did you take so long?

Sometimes it takes me 7 minutes to walk downstairs and sometimes I spill my chai.

Yeah, 7 days. She hasn’t had an actual day off since, March I guess. We’re taking a vacation starting next week, she has a month off.

I’m not really paying attention, but I’ve seen a few tweets mentioning Albertan refugees to Texas. Is it still about their rights to do whatever they want?

Ask Lordy, all of AB's struggles are on the federal liberals and Rachel Notley.

The fact that the troubles started long before either got into power is just media bias.

Not all, but the larger percentage of it is due to Federal Libtards and folks like Notley. Can't defend the Prentice, Redford era of course but Notley put this Province 96 billion in debt in less than 4 years. Made all kinds of huge promises on health care, education, infrastructure etc but none of it happened but a large debt load. This is what happens when you elect officials that aren't fiscally responsible or know how to govern. Many NDP voters I know here have no idea what an actual platform is...they vote NDP because they 'support gays, trans or LGTBQ' values lol. Then they whine they are not getting what they need from the govt they voted in because they have no idea what their platforms actually are. Kenney wasn't much better as he just tried to cut-cut-cut from Notley's erratic spending and that doesn't work either.

Same goes for JT voters. They vote for him based off a single thing they resonate with...but have no clue about his fiscal programs or his ability to govern. 'Oh I voted for JT because he supports immigration and woke culture'. Well I'm sorry but that's not good enough. Educate yourself before you hit that ballot. We are now on course for a Trillion dollar debt under JT the largest in CDN history more than the past 22 PM's combined. And you can't pull the COVID card on that either this man has no idea how to govern and has surrounded himself with probably the most inept cabinet in CDN history with the likes of Freeland/Joly etc.

Alberta did just fine under the likes of Klein and a few others. But short lived as that was the premiers that followed Klein were a disaster and they were Conservative. Folks took a chance with Notley and she deserved her shot...but she was the worst Premier in the history of this Province in many ways not just fiscally. Man I hope Albertans aren't dumb enough to put her back in power again. But I think Danielle Smith is a decent choice here but again she needs to stick to her promises and stick it to Ottawa. If she ends up being another Jason Kenney a flip flopper then we are screwed yet again.

And folks in BC shouldn't be happy with JT either. Part of his Platform is to stick it to the west and that includes BC AB SASK and MB. No way Fuel should be $2.40 in Victoria...you can thank JT and Biden for that this process was well in motion before Russia invaded Ukraine lol. MSM uses the Russia/Ukraine angle to push the gas price narratives but really Russia only provides 3-4% of petroleum based products to North America. All my friends here who are analysts in Oil/Gas industry say it insignificant next to affecting gas prices here in North America but that's how the narratives are spun. It's biden and Trudeau all the way causing inflation. Not 100% but most of it falls on those two clowns and their voters plus printing VAST amounts of money, which doesn't help. This sh!t would have never happened under Trump but now way they would ever admit that now. Plus Putin would have never went into Ukraine under Trump. He was just waiting for an inept govt in the States and he got his chance.

Bottom line is until we see some form of electoral reform BC AB SASK and MB will remain in big trouble from the current Fed govt. Especially if JT manages to get back in 2025. Elections Canada still hasn't come clean on the 200,000 votes that 'went missing' during the last federal election lol. Which may have been enough to swing it the other way. And now we have Dominion Voting machines to contend with Provincially as well lol...gonna be fun. JT is the only PM in history to lose the popular vote TWICE and still remain in power...plus the coalition with the sellout Singh didn't please his voters much...if he has any left now he is just cruising to his pension fund in three years. Pollievre has a shot maybe if he merges with the PPC lol. But that could be disastrous. But I'm sure JT has some form of 'electoral reform' up his sleeve to retain power. If anything he is a slimy fucker lol.

Anyways my take and a bit of an essay lol. Either way we have tough times ahead especially if China goes into Taiwan. And I fear they will as the Biden and JT governments are so inept there will be no recourse. Crazy times anyways.

Happy Thxgiving to all anyways. Enjoy this time with your families best to all this holiday weekend.
