I'm surprised you have time to read all my takes. I figured you'd be busy writing some pornographic GoT fan fiction starring Sir Timothy Murray - jcragcrumple

Okposo has a M-NTC. If I were to bet money, I would guess Ottawa isn't a team he's willing to go to. Between his contract and a 15 team no trade list, we're screwed. - seedy
Just bury him and not in the AHL. |

Steve Smith has a good chance at staying on, I would imagine.
Does anyone know who Krueger's assistants for Switzerland at the World Cup or in Edmonton were? - Powerslave
Lindy ruff was one of the coaches for team Canada when he was there in 2016 I believe

true story. I guess what I'm saying is that giving him a chance on a scoring line is the best way to maximize his talent. He's got the shot, but it would be a shame to waste it playing him with grinders - jcragcrumple
Lot to be seen. You don't want him playing a defensive role, but Skinner and Sheary have shown that they can't do that either. Something will have to give.

Hard pass on Nelson, Brassard, Ferland, Chiasson, Donskoi, and Simmonds being great options. - Feds91Stammer
Why wouldn't you like Brock Nelson? 50 pts this year as basically a 1C/2C with Bailey and Komarov as his wings?
I can def see the others as the bottom of the choices list. Chiasson did pot 22 goals this year though... he's lower middle tier. |
|

He's 24. It's a much different situation. At the same time, there should be competition for the final spots on the team. Right now, I don't see how you don't pencil him in on the 3rd line. It's his spot to lose. If nothing changes, then he has to beat out someone like CJ Smith. - Lunaion
that right there is a huge statement.. if nothing changes and we go into the season with the same roster i would be hoping GMJB is fired before september |

Stripes, do you think Skinner will sign for that? Seems to be low number. Okposo will be difficult to move to anybody imo. I like the rest of it.
Also, with Ralph on board we might make a play for Eberle this summer. |

Don't like Nelson as a 2C.
Chiasson shot 18% this season. Next year when his stat line is 12-13-25 the team that signs him is going to regret it. |

Obviously things will change, but it could easily still end with CJ Smith battling with Olofsson for the final LW spot.

Edited to my post. He kept the same assistants when he was promoted to head coach. Probably does like Smith, but he didn't hire him.

If that's the case, then I'd give Smith the edge. I'd rather have CJ in that role, and then call up Olofsson if there's a top-6 injury (and of course use him properly) |

i could see that being the case.. i just dont want to have him fighting for either the 2nd or 1st line.. if he proves it and makes it there awesome, but i don't want that to option numero uno |

I hate this 'use properly' thing. He might be a 3rd line player at 5v5. Nothing wrong with that. At 24, is there really much more development left? If he helps you win, you keep him.

With a shot like his, you don't use him in a defensive role imo. Gotta get him some top-end playmakers to maximize his strengths. Playing him with a Sobotka-type guy will not lead to the best results possible. He needs to be in the offensive zone with creative puck distributors |
