I am trying to be optimistic after my meltdown last night
I always thought vanek had hall of fame potential and his lack of effort at the entire 200 foot game, is one of the big reasons there is not a banner with stanley cup champs - homiedclown
Homie by September were both talking 90-95 points next year.
I have to say, I was really pissed after this season
But, the Sabres know how to keep us interested
I love the krueger signing. Especially if it helps bring talent to buffalo.
Matt zuccarello for example
He would be fun to watch |

Kruegs needs to unlock Okposo’s inner Mike Grier. It really isn’t asking for much. |

I wouldn't give him more then 2.5 per, same for pommer
and I am ok bring back pommer if they remove okposo (bury him in rochester if needed) and only keep 2 of sobotka, girgens, wilson and lockport larry
and no ellie - homiedclown
2 of those guys plus Vanek and Pommer is still 4/6 of a bad bottom 6 imo. There's no speed or toughness, or faceoff acumen, and neither Vanek nor Pommer play pk

I do know the player, but please enlighten us oh Salty one on how adding him at a Cost Controlled one yr deal would be a bad idea with the LACK of talent on our wings - MEBSabresFAN
Now that your at one year cost controlled, sure.
420 ago you were at , trade for him, sign him for 2 years 10 million. He's a 20/20 guy |

It is possible, given Kyle's attention to physical conditioning, that he has a bounce back yr. Recovering from life threatening condition can take over a yr to recover fully if ever. |

Okposo is done, and only going to regress further. He can still produce on the PP, similar to Moulson's last year, but we've all seen what he is at even strength. His only hope - imo - is to try to move down a weight class and reinvent his game in order to try to get a half a step quicker |

I agree with you on him being a 20/20 guy, but I think he's worth the 2yr risk/reward, We have Jack and Dahlin, I want talented youth with veteran talent around these players. I think a 20/20 guy is worth 4m2yrs adjusted for my 420 issues. |

WoW.....Thats a bit much don't ya think?
Let me get this straight, Thomas Vanek's Lazy play cost Buffalo a Stanley Cup? - MEBSabresFAN
lazy penalties in the sens series in 07
1 goal in that series
benching due to blah play in 06 playoffs
when breire and drury was gone, vanek was paid to put the city on his back, he decided to count cards in rochester and refuse to play penalty kill |

What about the Head issues? Don't you think they have been the major drag on his game? |

after hearing the interviews, I am convinced he was being interviewed for a different position with the organization and botts fell in love and convinced him to get behind the bench

Yeah, I'd say that's a huge factor. But with the direction the game is heading in terms of speed, I don't see his down-low puck possession game as being as important as a speed-based transition game. The head injuries finished him off, but to some extent GMTM was enamored with his style which was suited to the 2012 LA Kings, but not the 2019 NHL. Unfortunately we have 4 more years of TM's mistake |

he had zero control
sabres had the right to match the oilers offer
vanek's options were play overseas or 50 mil in the states
looking back 12 miserable seasons later, darcy should have kept the picks and let vanek go to edmonton |

2 of those guys play PK - I honestly don't know if Hayes does, but I'll assume he does. That means Erod, Hayes, Eichel and ??? are your 4 PK forwards |

Let me be specific, in a kind and friendly way.....This is the Cheap Bastard that COST the City of Buffalo a Stanley Cup out of pure greed.
