Oloffsson is a lefty - TheHank
That's my bad. I was thinking of Nylander sometimes playing LW with a RH shot. Gotta get my swedes straight |

Steve Smith has a good chance at staying on, I would imagine.
Does anyone know who Krueger's assistants for Switzerland at the World Cup or in Edmonton were? - Powerslave

He'd be a great fit imo. Opinions vary wildly on him here. I'd be in for 5 years at $6m per if that gets it done on the open market |

There are so many great options for 2C and top 6 wingers in this UFA pool... I love the chances.
Even if other teams are battling over Panarin, Duchene, Pavelski, and Karlsson.
Centers - Nelson, Hayes, Lee, Johansson, Brassard
Wingers - Nyquist, Dzingel, Connolly, Zuccarello, Ferland, Chiasson, Eberle, Donskoi, and Simmonds.
There's just so many options which will also help keep contracts down too. 1 or 2 wingers don't saturate the whole thing and can demand 5-7M and be B level guys. They know that there are 6 other guys who could be called if they price themselves out. |

“Everybody talks about the quarterback being back at the point. But, if you look at the truly great powerplays, they are led by a dangerous player off the hashmark,” Krueger said
I like that take. - Sabre_Tooth
I might finally get my wish of an umbrella PP with Risto (or Montour) up top, Dahlin and Eichel on their off wings, Skinner (or mitts) in the middle and Reinhart down low |
|
|
|
Yeah, I don't see Reinhart playing LW. Nylander can play some RW. Olofsson should really be on the left to maximize his RH shot imo - jcragcrumple
Lineup projections are fun, but my projection is that at least 1 LW gets moved, even if Skinner leaves. If your job is on the line, you don't count on Nylander switching to RW and have no depth behind him.

If he doesn't take full advantage of Olofsson on the PP, I'd be astonished.

you also dont plan on nylander AND/or Victor being in the top 6 either. |

he still has to make the team... why are we giving this guy the Mitts treatment, did we learn nothing from last year |

Olofsson needs to be in the top 6 imo to maximize his talent. If they bring in another dynamite LW and re-sign Skinner, then maybe you rethink that |

His best chance to succeed is playing with Eichel imo. I guess you could have a 4th line of Olofsson-Erod-Okposo and just let him tee off |

He's 24. It's a much different situation. At the same time, there should be competition for the final spots on the team. Right now, I don't see how you don't pencil him in on the 3rd line. It's his spot to lose. If nothing changes, then he has to beat out someone like CJ Smith.

true story. I guess what I'm saying is that giving him a chance on a scoring line is the best way to maximize his talent. He's got the shot, but it would be a shame to waste it playing him with grinders |
