In case it’s hard for the low IQ crowd to follow. In this reality Brad Marchand plays for the Bruins. Therefore, I do not like him as a player.

If the salary cap ceiling is indeed raised to 83 million then that would mean Vegas is over with a few RFAs to sign including William Karlsson.
I have already mentioned that I am in favor of looking at a possible RHN trade, but another option could be Karlsson. I figure the Flyers will have roughly 15-16 million in cap space after re-signing their RFAs and Karlsson could be asking for maybe 6.5 to 7 million. Even though he had a down season compared to his previous, he could be a scorer the Flyers sorely lack in the top 6. It will also take some pressure off of Giroux and Couturier as well. Then figure in that Karlsson is one of the better defensive forwards in the league and slotted behind Coots could be ideal, especially if they ever make the playoffs again. Plus he is currently 26.
Vegas also has Glass coming up soon, which would help there already strong top 6 of Stone, Patchy, Stastny, Smith, Marchessault and Tuch.
Now would Vegas trade him? Not sure, but they have to trade someone to get below the ceiling and fit Karlsson in. Vegas top 6 forwards have some type of NTC as well. What would the cost be and what would the Flyers be willing to part with?
The biggest questions would be:
1) How will Vegas re-sign him and who will go to make room?
2) If they trade him will Vegas only want assets that won't affect the cap (picks/prospects)?
3) Would they take some salary and be able to fit it?
What package would you put together for Karlsson? |

Clarkson will be placed on LTIR effectively raising their Upper limit by 5.25M to 88.25M

They have 3 RFAs (including WK) plus a backup goalie (Subban is a RFA as well). Not so sure 5.15 million (roughly) will cover even Karlsson. |

Colin Miller is someone they might look to trade and someone the flyers should probably have interest with |

GMGM went to the Paul Holmgren School of Cap Management.
(Outside of Marchessault, literally every guy on that roster is getting overpaid by $1-2M) |

I'm not saying that they don't have to make some moves, I'm just saying that they have that to play with.

Well...isn’t he more of an offer sheet target? |

Personally it would be cheaper to work out a trade than do the whole offer sheet thing. |

They have a lot of options to create space before they get rid of WK. That's like saying Toronto going to part with marner or Tampa with point. Better off targeting a lesser player on the team that would help us. |
