One step closer to pulling a Hayes. - DarthKane
Especialy if the logjam thickens...it might be a reverse Adam fox with the Flames throwing the Hawks a pick... |

.... maybe..... - Tyler Cameron
Although i really like Cozens scouting report if Hughes not taken yet then you cannot pass on this talented player despite his size issue
Dach sounds like he is be very hard to play against and if not for his skating only average, he would be up for consideration. In fact i suggest Dach and Broberg are going to be really good value early.to mid first round picks. |

I bet Stan is going to come out of left field and select that goalie, Spencer Knight, with #3 - Slofire94
I counter your statement with, Stan regretfully trades Gus on condition the goaltender he wants [Knight] is available. Perhaps the Penguins oblige.
If you really like Knight then this is a sound cost control method to acquire a future #1 goaltender. He might be ready in only two years.....earlier than many netminders take. Then again, i thought Demko for Vancouver would step in sooner. Probably the big size Markstrom finally played consistently well enough to induce Benning to let Demko stay another year AHL |

Knight is 18 years old. I suggest you thinking he might be NHL ready in 2 years is extremely optimistic. Big league shooters can make even the most talented kids wearing the pads lose their confidence.
Look no farther than how long it took Jordan Binnington to make the big leagues and excel. |

All the stuff is quite interesting, but for a lot of years now all of the fantasy trades, the signings, the what if’s , the “ done deals”,“They’re drafting this guy” Ect. How many of us have ever been right ?..... on anything? Myself , I’m batting big fat zero,...... my point is it will probably be completely different on every aspect than anybody Suggested/predicted come July 15.
I’m sure Bowman and his guys already have everything laid out and they’re want and wish list. And none of it that any of us are suggesting is probably in them. |

Refs have been giving them the breaks so far, very weak call on the hook, never touched his hands. |

University of Denver names Mitchell as team captain for next season. Great accolade and experience for him. IIRC, he wore an A for Team Canada at the recent WJC in December. - AEL_Fox
A great year lined for Mitchell. It should be great for his development.
Based on his statements he wants to step right into the NHL and be an impact player. A great attitude to have and the Hawks D situation woth figure itself out by 2020-21 I suspect.

Yeah, crap call. I don't want to rag on the refs for everything because their jobs are so tough in the moment. Most times, I let stuff go. StL is just out working them in every aspect. |

Possible. Mitchell won't be pleased if the Hawks take Byram but CHI has the Keith card in their back pocket if Mitchell continues his growth and is truly worth it.
Mitchell loves Keith and says he models his game after him.
That might not be enough but all signs are pointing towards Mitchell signing with Chicago in the spring.

He did wear an "A" and could wear the "C" this year for Canada. |

Mitchell still would have a good shot and I think he’d need a year in Rockford anyway. I don’t think there’s a real logjam for the Hawks on defense. Seabrook and Keith will stick around, but other than that the defense is wide open like term. I like Murphy but he can he traded if needed. With Byram or not the Hawks will stagger the introduction of their D prospect into the NHL. If Mitchell is confident in his abilities (which he should be) then he’ll stay the course and continue being positive. |

And then you have Carter Hart ,he is more in the mode of Spence Knight then Binnington .
A special goalie don't come around much ,and even when they due I think they might be 50/50 they work out ,So it always a risk taking them . Price was a bit of a surprise at 5 if my memory serves me right ,and he has worked out well .
Maybe Knight will fall to the HAWKS like DBC did ,but I doubt it think he will go in the top 1/2 of the 1st RD. |

He has aged out of the WJC. He turned 20 in January. |

MAF went first overall, right? Vasy in 2012 went 19th. Those come to mind immediately who have panned out. |

Byram has no impact on Mitchell. One plays the right side. The other the left. If anything, it could be a positive impact. Maybe Mitchell see his future partner in Byram?
Mitchell has stated on more than one occasion is excited to be a part of the Hawks organization and fully intends to be a Hawk. He felt going back for another year was the best for his future. |

They did. The Hawks find goalies. Always have and I suspect, always will. They also have a couple of guys who are progressing in Gravel and the Finn. |

I'm most excited for him.
I'm expecting them to draft a goalie, like you said. Waite also does good work with the guys that do come up. |

I have my preference for who I want at 3. There are about 4-5 guys I would be okay with. Drafting a goalie at 3 is not one of them.

The big question for next year is who backs up C2?
Is it Delia? Do we expect Ward back? What other veterans might be available?
Ryan Miller anyone? |

Bryam or Cozens one of them will be picked by the hawks. It also depends what the rangers do hughes or bryam i say this because i think Jersey takes kappo but i could be wrong. |

What they need is a backup who can play 35 games and if things go south with Crawford's health as many as 50. That isn't Delia, he is a minor leaguer until he proves otherwise. |

I don't have a top pick, I have a top 4 list. Kakko is a crossed fingers hope for. No one will pass up on him, I know. We can find a goalie in a later round, or maybe Stan makes a trade. I think he will be really busy this summer. |
