Is this why you have an issue with Nelson? - washedup20
I have a problem with Nelson because he stood and watched zadarov RIP eichels face off. Everyone should.
Liked him when I thought he had a spine.
Can he look in the mirror yet without getting sick?
Maybe post another frindge nhl player to defer the conversation again?
I'm guessing you didn't mind Nelson's actions against the avs? Or lack of actions?
I saw soft Sam head in there, #respect

How many years in the league or at what age is a player considered a vet? - washedup20
I'm talking about guys 30 years or older. StL has a number of them.
They've all been around long enough to know their roles and play them perfectly. It's vital to a team's success, imo.
Ask any superstar in the league, and they'll tell you of a veteran leader that showed them "the way".
We seriously lack that. |

I saw an interview with the actor that plays him, and he said that the "Creepy Ass Bran" is just him squinting because he has no contact lenses in his eyes. He literally shot most of his scenes blind. - buffalofan19
It's always funny when actors make fun of their characters.
I was watching with my family last night, and my father has been going on for weeks about how useless Bran was. So when Tyrian was giving his speech, I turn to him and ask 'you happy now?' He's still demanding that Bran be useful and get out of his chair. |

That being said, I think "the joke" has run its course.
I think there are some that come on here lately just to spew their passive-aggressivness. It's sad and boring. |

I’m with you that he definitely reacted poorly aka not at all to that incident. I’m also looking at his play from the rest of his career and saw a mistake.
I see a solid player at a very cost effective contract and with the current roster a player that can be moved up and down the line-up smoothly.
You calling a player of that caliber useless and then ignoring the correlation of THE CHAD who could’ve easily played for the Sabres night in and night out seems more of an emotional reaction than a logical choice.

Too many folks around these parts don't understand the importance of these older guys. It doesn't matter what level sports you're playing, it's always better to have veteran leadership. I imagine in the pros it's even more important. I mean, I'm sure it is. |

I agree, I also think Botts realized that and tried to gain some of what your seeing in St. Louis to the Sabres through the Ror trade. That is the part of the trade that has failed completely. |

If we're talking about a guy like Justin Williams who is a little long in the tooth, but can still play the game, then I agree. Leadership while being bad is not helpful - see Okposo, Kyle and Gorges, Josh |

Okposo at 3M, Bogo at 3M, I don't think anyone's batting an eye. Of course their salary needs to match the production. But if they're a mil overpaid, and they're great leaders, great. You earned that extra mil. |

It shouldn't have failed, though, right?
Why did it fail? That's the question.
Was Berglund's leadership overblown? They said he was great in the locker room. He even said he couldn't wait to take Dahlin under his wing. I remember reading that.
Sobotka was always a guy that played hard and was hard to play against. Wtf happened to THAT GUY?
I've said it before, they need to find the next Mike Grier (or two). |

I had heard his foot injury was extremely similar to the Foppa injury.
I want NOTHING to do with him as a UFA. Someone is gonna pay him 8M and going to get Pronger's last 6 years out of it. - JVince11

I just have to laugh though at the bad luck of the Sabres.
St. Louis is a really good team, but they have been fortunate with playoff opponents in WPG who hasn’t played well since January and Dallas who just wasn’t that good.
Now San Jose is banged up and Jones has been awful.
