It’s a joke when you use it one time but when you make an argument about the Sabres And say she’s a “ waitress “ and all this bullpoop it’s wrong and shows no class
If my daughter or yours got called a “ waitress “ by some random guy and said hey get me some fries when she’s not a “ waitress “how would that make you feel? |

Tarasenko impacts the game more then a skinner does though. He’s scored 30+ 6 years in a row playing with a variety of different centres. I like Skinner, just hate paying a winger that much dough, especially when he isn’t a dominant two way player. - Pegullaville
He's paid to put the biscuit in the basket, the 40 Gs, and his top 5 winning/tying goals carry a premium value
...he wasn't a guy who scored 8 goals in a 9-0 game.
Let's not argue about $500k - $1m for that guy. Let's worry about guys making $3, $4 and $5m who should be paid like $2m for their production. |

Nothing wrong with waitresses. The ones at Perkins are particularly fine women. |

The amount of whiny, thin-skinned female doges in here is too damn high.
This place is becoming way too effeminate.
Think we need a new blogger for Hockeybuzzer's that need a safe-space. |

This. X100.
It’s the most ridiculous thing ever.
You’re going to let a 30-40 goal guy walk for nothing because he might get 500k-1 mil too much. |

True story, she was a waitress before starting working for Pegula
She met Terry while waitressing

There's plenty of talk about "gold digging," "black widow," "bring me a Coke," "me ruv Terry," etc. that is objectively offensive. The waitress stuff is the most coded way of expressing the rest of those more flagrantly sexist and racist opinions. So while this delivery system isn't as offensive, the message behind it absolutely is |

Dude, she was a waitress. She isn't qualified to be in the position she is in. That's not an opinion or overtly sexist somehow, that is fact. |

She literally was a waitress when she met Terry
Not sure what else you want, it's going to become a joke because the Sabres have become a joke of an organization.
She is former waitress, and while she could have all the business acumen in the world, she is the President of 2 professional sports teams because she married a rich white guy. |

Dude, she was a waitress, and now she is the President of PSE. Whether or not she's a female is irrelevant to the jab.
FFS... calling a former waitress a waitress is... sexist because she's a woman(seriously?); therefore, calling a waiter a waiter is sexist because he's a man....?
Why don't we just call it racist too, since that's in the same realm of bullpoop these days.
Fcking people around here. |

I think there's plenty of fair criticism to be dished out toward KP and TP, but that message can be articulated without resorting to cheap shots, stereotypes, racism and sexism |

If nothing is done by the middle of June he is going to test free agency
I believe Botterill said Kruger will start meeting players soon and hopefully Skinner is one of them.
I will say Kruger sounds like a players coach from everything I have read. It could work out here with Skinner.
If playing close to home matters this is the only place he could play because Toronto clearly doesn't have the cap to bring him on. |

I always read the "waitress" comments as a shot at her qualifications, or lack thereof, not the fact that she is a woman.
That said, her job as president is primarily to build PSE's brand. I don't necessarily buy that she and/or Terry are meddling. |

No the problem with the world is small group of people get offended by something and then accommodations have to be made for them.
The amount of people on the far right and the far left is relatively small.
But it's those people that get the most notoriety and discussion because its a shock value world.
There is far more middle ground between 85% of the world (and the political parties) at least in North America anyway. |

I am not worried. If the Sabres want to get something done, they will. I have a feeling the term/salary will be higher than I would like, but I fully expect Skinner to come into training camp as a Buffalo Sabre. |

It isn't a cheap shot to call her a waitress when she was one.
If she wasn't a waitress, was a lawyer, and people were telling her to go get a cup of coffee, that's sexist.
I didn't see any "ruv Terry" stuff, that would be racist.
I guess my issue is that people want to call insults, racist or sexist, when in actuality they are not. Simply valid critiques of a woman. |

Pretty much. The extremes are what generate interest. Middle/moderate is boring. That's just been a reality since society became a thing. |

True. We should also agree that just because you are offended doesn't mean something is truly offensive either.
Like calling a waitress, a waitress. That's a fact. It is other comments that take it further where you are correct. Not before. |

As I said before, the waitress comments are a dog whistle for some overtly racist/sexist comments made here.
This is the same conversation as we had with Ted Black and everyone's favorite Boogeyman Russ Brandon. It's a business position, and she has plenty of contacts. That said, again, I think there are valid criticisms, but we should be able to express that in an adult way |
