The fact that she isnt qualified for the job has nothing to do to her being a female.
The only people mentioning she is a female is these soap boxer divas. Seems pretty damn sexist of them to jump to the conclusion she isnt qualified because she is a women. - Mentalorgasm5
I never mentioned the word "woman" once.
Terry has no business running a hockey team, based on his business career, then.
Heck, 99% of sports owners have no business running their teams, either, based on this. |

Yup, which is why they hire someone and not appoint themselves. |

Do people really not understand that there are people in the top of organizations that are business people and people that are sport people?
Listen to Magic Johnson's interview w/ Stephan A and Kellerman today. He pointed it out PERFECTLY. He left that job because the people who are supposed to be there to run the BUSINESS side of the organization (the brand, the projected profits, business models, etc.) were trying to tell him how to run the sport/team aspect of it.
Botts runs the entire sports side of the Sabres. End of story. - JVince11
They are failing the business side as well. Stupid in arena DJ, still no royal blue jerseys, fan appreciation day the last home game of the year ? Lafontaine, Murray, Bylsma, Ted Nolan, all had to get the Pegulas signatures. |

And Lafontaine lasted what 10 minutes cause he knew this was a poop storm ? The NHL had a hand in our last search for a GM and we received a lot of outside assistance. Botterill is being very patient and I hope he gets the time to see out the rest of his plan. - Pegullaville
LaFontaine also walked out on the Islanders.
What does that tell you about HIS character? |

Kane has been booted from two organizations. His encounters with the police and his aloof attitude did as much to seal his ticket out of town as KP. And paying him $7x7 would have been a mistake anyway imo - jcragcrumple
We will see.
9x8 for Skinner, to me, is a worse deal.
He was a problem child we couldn't control. A serious organization like SJ says thank you.
Terry can get it too. I think they're both incompetent for what it's worth. Just tired of people being okay with a Terry critique but coming in swinging if Kim is mentioned. Neither of them should even weigh in on a hockey or football related question ever again. |

I said this before: there's not a single pro sports owner who has a bachelor's in "Sports Team Ownership."
Experience is the key to getting good at anything. You can be successful in a lot of fields, simply by applying things you've learned in other walks of life. |

East Resources was middling along until they got lucky in 2008 and then sold the company for billions.
People tend to forget that. Nothing about that business from 1983-2007 was considered successful.
Look I am thankful the Pegulas bought the Sabres and the Bills. But the proof is in the pudding that they have no idea how to run a hockey team.
They hired a President of Hockey Ops and he was gone in a month.
They've gone through what 5 coaches?
Lindy
Rolston
Nolan
Bylsma
Houlsey
and are now on #6
They are on their 3rd GM who if he didn't get the coaching hire right will be out the door soon.
None of this speaks well to the type of people the Pegulas hire, not to mention the drama that has happened over at the HarborCenter in the last year under their watch.

Tarasenko impacts the game more then a skinner does though. He’s scored 30+ 6 years in a row playing with a variety of different centres. I like Skinner, just hate paying a winger that much dough, especially when he isn’t a dominant two way player. - Pegullaville
So what would u do instead?
Bc we need to add at least 40goals WITH him...
Getting 80 will be nearly impossible |

It's a dumber argument than 6throundpickbuzz. This team will succeed or fail based on Botterill's off-season and Krueger's accumen. Both men had sterling reputations before being hired, and both have been given near unlimited resources to succeed. Their success or failure is their own. |

I wonder what Anders Lee will get on the open market. We won’t need 80 more goals if we play better defensively. As well I’d rather try to run 4 effective lines then be forced to drop big money on a winger. We can sign 2-3 depth guys with $9M of cap space. |

So, Lafontaine "quit" because he saw the "incompetence" in the organization, but HE'S the one that hired Murray and brought Nolan back, who were part of the "incompetence".
#16 gets a pass, though, right?

So marrying a rich businessman who also has no idea what he’s doing qualifies her to run a sports franchise ? It’s not like she was a waitress and got a Bachelor of Commerce degree, an MBA, then impressed the ranks and established herself as a business tycoon. I’m sure she is a fantastic person, but she shouldn’t be anywhere close to team president of the Buffalo Sabres. - Pegullaville
All of which is an intelligent criticism
But the ppl who ball that up into “waitress” are not speaking intelligently
And if it’s supposed to be a joke, they do a poor job of saying anything remotely funny
It’s completely unnecessary |

Correct.
Last time I checked, Seymour and Norty didn't bring a cup to Buffalo either. |
