I am sure Edler without a NTC or Kesler without one would have brought back a nice return
Hamhuis Bieksa some more NTCs that limited trading - VANTEL
Wouldn’t have mattered, Aquilini wouldn’t allow a rebuild. Edler was 28 years old coming off a 22 point in 45 game season, the previous year he had a career high of 49.
It’s was an absolute no-brainer to give him a NTC. Revisionary history to say he shouldn’t have had one. Bieksa had one and they traded him. |

No, Tankists recognize that the team is already bad, and want them to embrace what they are and do their best to improve their future by adding additional draft picks and/or prospects so that as the team naturally improves it has a lot of players to choose from. - 1970vintage

The excuse for Gillis leaving the cupboards bare has come to an end but just recently.
Now looking at where they stand , they have one of the best cap situations in the entire league. They signed 3 NCAA UFA signings at the end of last year. They had a good year of trading for Leivo and Pearson. Their core is under the age of 26.
We didn't trade for Lucic
I know it seems I am a fan of Benning which I am not. I do like Johnson Brackett and Benning as a group.
I don't mind if Benning gets replaced but I just don't see the better fit yet. Throw a name at me and I will let you know how I feel but I don't want any of the regurgitated sh1t names. |

They acquired picks, got lucky at the lottery, they'll be relevant before we are. |

He was also gifted a team which was just about to peak, and a good coach in place. He didn't set the table. - VanHockeyGuy
That wasn't the point though. The point was Gillis was good at ADDING DEPTH.
And I agree, he was exceptional at that |

I seem to remember when we were beaten by the Cup Champs Chicago and LA in the first and second rounds it didn't matter we were losers according to the Leaf fans . Tables have turned. - VANTEL
Bitter ppl back east. Not up late enough to follow the entire league.

I seen about 10 minutes . Didn't like it.
Speaking of action heros did you see the video yesterday of Arnold getting dropped kicked? ![:aah:](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/ahh.gif) - VANTEL
Django was very very good. Try again and let it play out. Very good performances by stars like DiCaprio and fox.
Extremely violent but great movie. |

Bowman & Rutherford inherited star studded teams & won cups. MG didn’t.
We are not from being a PO team with lots of work to do adding more prospects to sustain it longterm. In that regard i feel good about the JB’s et al. Benning unlikely to be around for 5+ yrs to see it. |
