Ya I don’t have your don cherry style bigotry, you do know that people from other countries are as diverse as they are here, right? I think he’d be good as a LW add if it was around 4.5-5x4 - neem55

Nope, I thought it was a stupid comment. Suggesting someone is a pedophile is going a little far. I didn't like it when it was done to me. |

There's a difference between calling someone a pedophile and describing an opinion as pedophilic for a humorous purpose, but nevertheless I figured it wouldn't offend him. Sorry if it offended you. |

Only way players will take paycuts to help the team is if they get some sort of a NTC, why buy-in to something that you may not even be apart of in the future? Doesn't make logical sense. |

what do you guys mean by buy-in then? You mentioned NTC’s so I’m confused.
Like play hard for the team? I think most of the team does that, some of them just don’t have the talent to be anything more than scrubs or depth players at best. Guys like Pouliot, Sutter, Hutton, Granlund, Beagle, Schaller get criticized but it’s rarely due to lack of effort. |

So why not have a NTC system like the NBA?
For example in the NBA, no-trade clauses can only be negotiated into contracts when a player has at least four years of service for the team he is signing the contract with and at least eight years total in the NBA.
Guys want security I get that but to say why buy into something you may not be apart of in the future is asinine. Explain how it is not logical. NHL careers are already short. |

I think you misunderstood. I was talking about buying into the culture and coaching system of the team. |

Bo’s next contract:
“Hey Bo, we really want to build a winner here, but we need this core group here to sacrifice a bit financially to allow us to surround you guys with enough help”
“Sounds good, Mr. GM, I’ll take 0.5M-1.0M less per year to make this happen. I’m looking forward to being apart of something special here”
*2 years later*
“Bo, you’ve been traded for a better player who unexpectedly asked for a trade, it’s a move we had to make to improve our team.”
Why should the player take a pay cut and not protect himself from this possibility? Even if it’s a long shot, it’s something he’d at least want a limited NTC for.

ahh, my bad then. NTC’s were mentioned so that’s what I was curious about.
I don’t think buying in has been an issue, although I would love to see more of a pack mentality on the ice. That’s something that starts with development in the AHL, I’ve read that teams like the Bruins strongly emphasis that even as early during rookie camps, that’s why every player in Boston seems to grow bigger balls. |

I still don’t understand the labeling of players. I’ve seen players who I’d go to war with from both Sweden/Russia and plenty of soft Canadian/Americans. Sweden especially I think gets a biased rep from Canuck fans because of recency bias with Canuck players.
I still remember, as a kid, being in awe of what a beast Peter Forsberg was. Then there’s guys like Ohlund, Franzen, Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Hornqvist, Landeskog, Steen, Kronwall, Backlund, Arvidsson, Larsson, etc who aren’t soft at all |

So if you were one of the better players on a team negotiating a new contract, you’d blindly trust management to not trade you? I doubt it man |
