For all you people that think the Sabres need to take Callahan in a deal, he will submit a 15 team no trade. |

He didn't really rush it though. He had until the roster bonus was due. - buffalofan19
Why did he have a deadline? |

I’m not hanging up on that ask, I’d move the late first. What’s would the + + be? Roster players or prospects? |

They would never have been a championship team with O'Reilly and Kane on the team, this year, next, or ever.
The difference between the Sabres and San Jose/St. Louis is that they already had their core pieces in place. Kane and O'Reilly are guys you add when you're one piece or two away from a championship. You don't add them when you are rebuilding. That was the Sabres (i.e. Murray's mistake). The Sabres are still a better team in the long run with both those guys off it, regardless of what St. Louis does. - buffalofan19
A team with Jack Eichel, ROR, E.Kane, and Sam Reinhart finished 31st in the league. True story. |

Welp the trade is bad now ..
I still understand why he didn’t just move onto a different team when they said no to the top prospects so you settle for the lesser one ? - gerbe75pts
ROR was NOT the reason that the Blues reached the finals. He played well and was a good piece to help get the Blues over.
The Sabres did not lose nor win and the Blues did not win or lose the trade. They were a piece away and I would argue the piece was Binnington. And again, Berube had a "system" for the players.

hahaha my god this organizations looks like complete fools
And before someone says it, yeah man, we all know that we wouldn't have been a championship team this season with ROR and Kane on the team, but those two alone make up a competent second line, Skinner could have still been had, Mittelstadt could have developed proper as the 3rd line center this season, and Rodriguez is our ideal 4th line center.
It is maddening that ownership got so involved that we lost 150 more points for scored this season. That alone would have gotten us into the playoffs, easily.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is just fooling themselves. No different than the people who thought this year was a stealth tank, haha, as if. - BeadyEyedDouche
I thought that the Pegulas were and are not involved and only the GM and Coach can be blamed? Just saying...............................

Trouba from what was said, doesn't want to sign there. So I don't think it has to due with being the same player. Just has to due with getting a good return and i'm sure there will be other teams that can make an offer as well. I'm not a huge fan of Trouba. |

But for the team stat of +/-, Trouba is Risto. How soon will this board turn on Trouba? I would put the over/under at 10 games. No one would give this guy a chance to develop into the system that the Sabres will run. |

1 - they don't "need to". He is not the focal point of the deal...just a way to increase the value long term, for short-term pain.
2 - Buffalo won't appear on that list
3. - trade Risto, it is addition by subtraction. Krueger can try like hell coach him up and motivate him like the previous 3 coaches tried and failed, cause you can't catch-up low IQ. |

In many ways, yes he is. I wouldn't include Borgen in a trade unless the result was a clear Sabres win regarding the return. |

Interesting take.
Kinda sounds like that trade was between those two teams.
Quite the coincidence |
