I don’t wanna buy a Tampa jersey though!
I’ll just get you one
No one will care out in Cali... hahaha - jdfitz77
I think it be pretty entertaining with your stories of people whispering about your jersey during the game lol |

I know u don’t like Risto...
but Cirelli straight up isn’t even enough,
let alone adding the Cap hit
Top4 RH defensemen have WAY WAY WAY more value than a 3C
Like u said,
they’re only trading for him if they really value him
So we’d have to get a better deal imo - jdfitz77
IMO Cirelli is excellent though. He’s like a ROR but a better natural goal scorer and a better skater.
Played average third line minutes on a stacked team. Produced in his first full year
I think if they could give him Risto’s contract at 5-5.5 mil he’s a steal in a year or two

Based on our picks we can’t offer sheet anyone between 4.2 mil (I think) and 10+ mil - OneKaneOneCup
Are u looking at our 2019 picks?
Bc those wont be in play
We’ll have already used them
Gotta look at 2020 & beyond |

Honestly I heard it on WGR from Jeremy White.
Not sure if it’s correct |

But just bc he might be available, doesn’t mean it would be a good idea
And if there isn’t a pass rusher available NOW,
we can wait till the right one is
We aren’t a Super Bowl contender this year anyways
Playoffs is even a bit of a stretch - jdfitz77
They would be signing him past next season.
The defense and salary cap structure would revolve around him
Rookie contract money for Allen for 3 more years
I agree though, I'm not sure if he is "that guy" |

Very well could be
I’m just saying... if we are gonna take Cap from Tampa, then they’ve gotta compensate us
And if they’re interested in Risto @5mil per...
then they’ve gotta see him as a top pair guy,
or at least as a guy who’s gonna anchor their 2nd pair
Cirelli isn’t totally established yet, and plays with tons of talent all around him
While i could certainly see him turning out like you project...
he doesn’t have that level of value right NOW
So I’d wanna see...
Risto, plus we take Cally off their hands
for
Cirelli, +
and maybe even another +
Cirelli, + EQUALS Risto
Cally Cap hit EQUALS another asset

Yeah, I’m with ya
We do need an edge rusher badly imo
Maybe Clowny could still be that guy?
Just a bit risky
If they’d trade him cheap enough,
could be worth it
Let him play out the year & see how it goes
Then decide on signing him long term |

Tampa isn’t the only team in trouble with the Cap
There’s a handful of other teams on rough shape too
Vegas, San Jose, Winnipeg, Leafs...
i feel like I’m forgetting a couple more too
I’m totally down to take advantage of these teams to get assets that can help us long term
We still have A LOT of building to do (imo) for us to become a contender one day |

Our third rd pick in 2020 went to Carolina for skinner.
We would have to sheet someone under 4.2 million or over 8.4 million this summer as it stands now to avoid that pick in compensation.

I don’t listen to WGR that much
Don’t really like Sports talk shows
(Especially the espn tv shows... they’re awful)
I’ve served him over the years at multiple bars
Enjoy the convos with him- not always about sports

Yeah, can’t imagine they’d let him go
Sharks have some really tough choices
To sign all their key guys, it looks like they’ll be about 15mil over the Cap
My guess is that they let Nyquist walk and end up not re-signing E.Karlsson
They could probably squeeze everyone else in
Pavelski, Thornton, Meier, Labanc & maybe even bring back your boy Donskoi |

This offseason is NOT the right time to use OfferSheets for the Sabres, unless thet are relatively low level players that don't cost much in terms of asset value going back.
IMO, the proper time to use an OS us when the roster is literally one (1) player away from being a serious contender. To cutoff the teams pipeline of young, cost controlled players on ELC by losing them now as compensation for just one player would be crippling for the mid/long-term when they are most needed. They need multiple roster improvements, some will come from the drafts last year and this year.
They need to find trades and judiciously use FA to round out the roster, then they can consider oS's. |

IMO they can be in a position to offer sheet someone if they make the right moves at the draft and at the start of free agency
