But, but...0.68 ppg...over 2 partial and 2 full NHL seasons...0.73 ppg if you drop last year. What size ice did he do this on? Maybe he's good and many people on this site are biased because they are mad he held out, jealous of his hair, and are putting too much stock in a bad season started late? I don't know - that's just me. A guy who likes to think he knows everything about hockey but actually doesn't do it professionally like those that drafted/signed/deploy him.
- Deeps27

I like him, but when he’s not scoring he’s just a soft marshmellow. That’s why he takes the heat.

Babs deployed him, right to the 3-4th line

That's why people did not like Kessel and he's a big time playoff performer.

This guy gets it. On why we should keep (and embrace) Marleau:

I strongly believe Nylander can thrive at C.

He has in the past and is dominating at it at this world championships.

Everyone says we can’t trade Kadri so we have 3 strong Cs...does anyone else remember Kadri at C at age 22? He was a train wreck in his own end and couldn’t win face offs. Will his ahead of him at the same stages of their careers.

If it fails? Grab a 3C at the TDL.

- Santo_44

He was a train wreck cause he was asked to do yoo much and depended on too much. Willie doesnt have the edge to his game to play 3rd line and you cant have your 3rd line making a 6.9 cap/7.5 salary.
Its just dumb cap management.
Who cares who dominates the WC, heck maracin was at a point per game, mantha is doing great.
Not saying cant play c. He just shouldnt play 3c.
Keep him on the wing, less responsibility and put him with star players, he needs them to produce.

Willy is playing well because the perimeter is larger on international ice.
- leafsfann

Less physical
Hopefully this play carries over to next season.

That’s why his cap hit starts with a 6 and not an 8.

Couldn’t get us to the playoffs, he lit it up big time on the 3rd line though. Good for him. Not too many teams can handle $8m 3rd line winger though.

I don’t even mind that he’s soft, but we have a lot of soft on our team.

I usually disagree with everything you say.

Here’s another one.

- Santo_44

Lol

I like Kap, but the free pass he gets is pretty Leafy.

Should have said soft as slime.

What a (frank)ing joke.

He makes $8m, they freed up some room by trading more in return.

#24, Nylanders replacement 🕺🏻

Kap gets a free pass? How do you mean?

If he played full time and had the soft starts that another winger had for a couple years, he may have put up some big #’s.

I didn’t know Bracco is #24. Cool.

Agreed, we should trade Marner for D, Kap can easily fill a top 6 role.

He's killing our cap, is terrible, and the coach uses him far too much. And what proof do we have that his "Leadership" has helped?

Greedy Marner. Soft as warm butter. 1 assist in the last 4 games against the Broons.

We gave him a horrific supporting cast. It's a team game. And he's certainly no 3rd line winger. 82 points this year, 92 last season.

Matthews and Marner haven’t Patrick Kane’d a person.
