sign as UFA/ or trade? - PatC80
he's under contract isn't he? something like 4.5 for 3 more years. I wouldn't be moving that contract, personally.
Edit: Did you mean sign a UFA or trade? I read that as you were asking me about how Kadri comes back...I was like wait what? |

It's good stuff.
Imadake is a time too. Gotta scope out my future Japanese spot in Toronto tho. - TheMussel
It's not TO, but if you find yourself in Mississauga lost and confused, Masamune is a very solid restaurant off the 401 on the Dixie main drive. You know it's good (or at least some kind of Yakuza hotspot) because they have tons of Japanese businessmen having lunches and dinners in those cool square booths. |

Big Marlies game tonight, they were up 3-0 last game when I started to watch/cheer. I promise to not even turn on the TV tonight.

I'll go for the Chrono Trigger nostalgia. I'll be carless and around Main and Danforth though so gotta see if there's anything palatable around there. |

I think Kadri comes back. What the hell do you do at 3C if he gets traded? - RickJames77
Again it depends on WHAT is coming back... that is the thing. I get it, it is ok to go who plays 3C if we move him, but at the same time if we get a 3C who is solid and at less cost back in a move, then that is covered off too so... |

hmm interesting
wonder what the Leafs should do with a player that had 2 60 point seasons by age 21 - senstroll
Trade him for Doughty
That should fix any cap problems some think we have. |

Let's play a game.
Who would you go after as a FA and who would you trade for and for what?
I'm glad we don't have to go through a lot of the season without a 3rd line C next year . Coyle is under a good contract too (I think 3.25M), even if it is for one more season. |
|
|
|
Once we know what Marner is going to make, things might be a little easier to predict.
I'm not getting to bent out of shape, our Coach sucks, goalie sucks, only have 2 D, Hyman sucks, Nylander does sometimes, Matthews floats around, Marner is ok, JT is slow. Don't see a cup anytime soon anywas, so enjoy the cold beer. - Garnie
Agreed THAT is going to be the real kicker there on things |

I would trade for Crosby and send over a premium 3rd round pick. I think both teams would get an asset that way. |

I like the idea of adding Miller, but I don't think he's what we need. - PatC80
Uhm.
Once Gardiner leaves he absolutely fills a hole.
I get the Gardiner flack but the Leafs will miss his puck moving BIG time. |

I strongly believe Nylander can thrive at C.
He has in the past and is dominating at it at this world championships.
Everyone says we can’t trade Kadri so we have 3 strong Cs...does anyone else remember Kadri at C at age 22? He was a train wreck in his own end and couldn’t win face offs. Will his ahead of him at the same stages of their careers.
If it fails? Grab a 3C at the TDL. |

Especially in the playoffs, moved the puck right into our net. |

Gardiner didn’t look himself...could of been his back or maybe he just lost all his skill in a month.
Judging by how Babs used him and that Gardine said his back was (frank)ed I’ll go with that.

Willie's a good passer, needs a good finisher. Stick him with Matthews or Tavares or it will be more of this year. I'm not a fan of his style of play but it would be nice to not have to listen to the constant chatter about him. |

He’s got a good shot too, he sees the game well and when he’s on his game he’s one of the best on the team at driving play.
I want him on the first PP unit. Put him at C when/if Kadri gets traded.
If not plop him with Matthews. |

i'd put nylander in marner's place on the 1st unit.
nobody feared marner's shot from the outside. nylander can score from there.
marner is best with his puck on the stick - let him freewheel on the 2nd unit. |

Seems to play when he wants, far too often. Not consistent for a veteran given as many chances as he has. |
