Crazy part about the song....the story about how it came about really fits this city, team, etc. Local small bar that looks like it could have been plucked right out of dogtown, the hill, etc. I'm sure all cities have places like that but it was an organic thing that really fit.

EDIT - I was wrong. It looks like that type of place but it's technically a member's only club. https://www.nhl.com/news/...8?tcid=tw_news_content_id

Kind of like the take me home country road thing or the bunch of jerks thing for the Hurricanes.

Whether I like the song or not, I want to hear it 4 more times all after 9:30pm CST in the next two weeks.

It's a particular Mummer's brigade. It's a club that works all year together on costumes and music and skits for the Mummer's Parade New Year's Day and Summer Mummers and then often gigs here and there. They are regular guys with usually a multigenerational loyalty to their club. Not club in the snooty sense. Club in the tree house sense. Like a grown man's tree house.

I hope someone will stop in with the cup. Maybe Brayden or Patty. I do wonder why we Flyers fans never saw in Maroon what he's done there. But he clearly had it in him. Maybe not playing him fourth line minutes would have made a difference.

My favorite nonFlyer is Tarasenko and has been for years. And I HATE the Bruins with gusto.

Good luck! Try to enjoy the stressballs you'll all be. And go get the cup.

You gonna come back and eat crow if the Blues pull it out or just troll after the Blues booked their ticket to the finals? Also, you put any money on your pick?
- eggsegan

not a better...but i will eat the crow if the blues pull this out...

boston will be rested and ready to continue their great team play, timely scoring and tremendous team defensive with rask a consmythe candidate..

blues will need to win at least 2x in bruin land...don't see that happening

I am a Hawk fan and I know I am supposed to hate the Blues but congrats on the big win and good luck in the cup finals.
You guys have waited long enough and I am rooting for ya!

Thanks, man! Appreciate it. There’s plenty of good Hawks fans out there!

He wasn't trolling. Bogie's good by me as we've had numerous chats back in comments of JJ's threads over the years.

We have some similar type things here in St. Louis. I think of it like a very small, very neighborhood, different version of an Elks type club. Is that a fair assessment?

I could go into some detail on this but it's water under the bridge and imagine a number of the parties would like it to stay that way given they have moved on.

If Rask continues to put up the same numbers, he is the Conn Smythe winner (regardless of who wins the series which would be almost impossible for St. Louis if he put up those numbers). Rask is the primary key in all of this imho, especially he will have been out of games for so long now.

Crazy thought of the day......the trade of Chris Pronger led the Blues to the Stanley Cup Final.

Pronger traded for Brewer who was traded for a draft pick that was used to pick Binnington.

Ha, NBC used something like that to tie it into Mike Millbury, since that clown drafted Brewer.

I like yours better.

You mean Scott Stevens signing. Stevens became Shanahan became Pronger became Brewer became Binnington. Maybe it was worth those 5 first round picks after all.

Yes. I was just thinking about this and the brigades and bands call them "clubhouses." So similar to fraternal organizations but with a slightly different slant. Rather than focusing on community service and charity they focus on the parade. But often also do charitable activities.

I believe it was Caron. What a mess that was.

Anyone remember the whole mess with Petr Nedved?

Nedved never found his game in St Louis. Nedved for Keenan was fine because there was no way Keenan would use Nedved correctly... Keenan couldn’t even figure out how to use Gretzky...

I have not watched much of the blues this playoff. I read the game reports and watch the game recaps. I have caught a good number of the 3rd periods and OT. I see they are 7-2 on the road.

I agree they are more than capable of winning 2 games or more in Boston. They will need to win at least 2 in Boston to win the cup. Bruins are not going to allow that. They are playing to well and rask is in another zone.

The blues rookie kid goalie been outstanding. He is going to at least have to match rask. I didn't think the blues would ever get this far with Allen in goal.

He is. I think layoffs impact skaters more than goaltenders. Blues have a great op to "steal" gm1. The blues must split in boston or they in heap big trouble.

It’ll be interesting as both teams will have had layoffs. In your opinion, do you think the difference in layoffs will benefit the Blues?

If you want to smile - go back and read Jason's blog from January 7.

Blues had blown yet another 2 goal lead and most of our comments are about how the season is a complete loss.

This of course was the night Jordan Binnington would get the start in net against Philadelphia.

And the rest, as they say..........is unbelievable.
