He's not directly comparing him to Virtanen. he's saying that there are better players that he would pick ahead of Virtanen.
By all accounts Soderstrom is even considered a better defenseman than Broberg.
Not to mention the handful of forwards likely available for the Canucks to pick at 10. - chompsey
I can't comment on Soderstrom . Never seen him. We both know everyone has a preference.
I liked what I seen from Broberg and he is 17 . I think he could play in two years . He is a good skater . He has a good shot . He is big and can hit. Look at me I am describing Jake
Whatever pick they take it will be good. |

I think they both have their skillsets. Soderstrom has a bomb, is responsible and skates well. Abd plays rhd whil brob plays L. I’m happy with either but lean towards the big shot rhd, still a hole for us. |

I agree with this, good prospect but overrated |

I think his floor is Edler and his ceiling is OEL . My opinion.

Of course he can (all elite talents can & the alphas are willing to - playing a different side isn’t 🚀 science). But he shouldn’t. He should be enabled to play at his absolute peak. With a responsible/reliable/compatible RHD partner. - DrChristianTroy

I’ve been a Seider fan all along but I really don’t want any Dman at 10. Jordan Spence is still my preference - take him later & develop him to replace Tanev as Hughes partner. - DrChristianTroy

At 10, got to have a pick with a higher floor. |

Yup. It wouldn't be so bad if I they had not drafted a bunch of other smaller defenders already. |

I do think he is closer to Edler.
The OEL comes from he has the weapons and it depends on what he does with them. It is very hard to guess a guys ceiling when he is 17 .
I remember I/We thought Hodgson was a great pick at 10 and we thought Horvat was a mistake at 9 . You just never know

I get all the Benning is an idiot references from fans that perceive they are more knowledgeable about the industry, player negotiating, talent structure etc, I’m not one of those fans.
I think with minimal injuries (hopefully no key players injured) this team will be pushing for a wild card spot next year. Year after they will make the playoffs, mini can document this fans prediction to ridicule me if he wants.
I also know I’m setting myself up to be flamed, so there it is, flame away. - Makita
Welcome. We’re on the right track, this is what i figured after we drafted QH. I think there’s a decent chance Joe Levi comes in and makes a lot of posters n here eat crow |

I think Juolevi (if not traded ) will play some time on the Canucks this year .
As far as eating crow it is only me and Nucker who think he still has issues . He is the only player drafted in the top 15 that year to never play a single NHL game but sure we will sit down and have a crow salad

all true, for me hockey sense, skill, skating all have to be above average for a top 10 pick. I don't think his hockey sense is above average. |

Where in the draft do you take player that say will for sure turn out to be a #4 defensive, never going to be nothing more never going to be nothing less.
Would you rate a #4 D men ahead of a 50 point forward? 100 NHL forwards scored 50 plus points this season. |

I could see Kessel playing with Bo but Lucic I seriously doubt.
Yesterday Holland said he is going to see what happened to Lucic and try to fix his problem - VANTEL

Look at the last video clip on the three I just posted . It gives a better ideal of his style. Absolutely nothing wrong with this kid |

I bet this draft will have about 6 forwards that get 50 points in a year. If you are talking 50 pts in their NHL career I will add another 6 forwards. |

Is that your breaking point where taking a #4 defender ahead of a 45 point forward?
I have 9 forwards maybe 10 that will be 50 point players. Unfortunately for me though, my projections of players points have been about 5 points lower lately because of increased scoring. |

Not positive on this, but, I believe they re-enter the draft, just like Adam Mascherin from a previous draft/s. - Reubenkincade

I would like to know who the three other defenders Canucks have in 4 years that would be ahead of him. We know Hughes but then who?
I think he will follow normal progression. Start at the 5/6 for a year or two then promoted to the second pairing and eventually finish his 15 year career on the top pair.
