Monday will be all about fallout from the World Championship.

I agree he has drafted some crucial players that I surprised even made it to him, but I don’t agree with him being labeled an idiot.

I understand fans wanting to place Pearson with Bo, mainly because there hasn’t been chemistry with anyone other, and Pearson did gel and preform with Bo in a shortened stretch.

I am a fan of Beagle, Roussel, not so much of Schaller, but Benning hasn’t had an issue trying something, doesn’t work move on. And both Beagle and Roussel are the types of players built for the playoffs.

My playoff concerns are Pettersson and Hughes, can they be like P. Kane and survive cheap shots by the Kadri’s, Doughty, even Marchand.

That’s fair, but I believe your opinion to be closed minded, as chompsey pointed out he had zero to work with and has slowly put together a better product than he was given.

But after reading this negativity every day for a few years, I find it’s like politics, the negative nellies are all loud, boisterous, made up scenarios, skewed untrue narratives until someone comes along that is open minded and points at the positives, the nellies get angry or walk away.

I think, technically, this is incorrect. As I already pointed out, Benning was handed a playoff team, and once he got his mitts on it they haven’t been able to achieve that yet. Yes, the team was imploding and any GM would likely find themselves in that position, but things aren’t “better” yet. Promising? Absolutely.

I had Hughes at 4 in my rankings and I hated when they picked him at 7 even though he was BPA on my board.
I liked Dobson. I have really enjoyed seeing Dobson in this Mem cup. NYI stole him.

After the draft went the way it did I thought we were getting Zadina after Arizona went off the board for Hayton. I'm glad we got Hughes but I agree NYI had a huge draft getting Dobson and Whalstrom.

Benning inherited the left over players from that all over the hill and all with NTC's.

My take: Gillis back in charge of biz/organizational philosophies & outside the box sh!t like sleep optimization, analytics think tanks, etc etc etc while Benning/Brackett focus solely on roster building would actually work for me.

This owner wouldnt have anything to do with Gillis in my opinion. Too much bad blood. Gillis made all kinds of accusations that could never be verified but fueled the rumours for years and years. I don't see them having a working relationship after all that.

He was handed a team that missed the playoffs. Gillis made no changes to the team after he was fired.
