Interesting...2 year extension

Penguins GM Jim Rutherford on @chad5ruhwedel: “Chad has exemplified what it means to be a team player the past two years. His work ethic and conditioning have allowed him to jump into the lineup at a moment’s notice, which is vital to a team’s success.”

I must have missed IT

Don't worry, you'll see IT this year.

Him and Mitts will both take big steps I think.

Hoping for Tage too, but not sure it'll happen.

No the money seems about right, don’t think I would of went higher then that. Smart of Lou to get him locked up though he’s a good player.

They have an ex-waitress who married well as team President (so do the Bills - it's the same person). The few times she speaks publicly she makes AOC sound like Margaret Thatcher.

So safe to assume Homis is actually John Galt

He's only like 21, he is young.
They need to give him proper time to develop...say until about 35.
Yet he has been the same player, as Michael pointed out, for his entire career. Soft, disinterested for long, long stretches.

At 21, he has about a 20% chance of making it. Stop wasting time and energy on him....package him with something of some value and try to get a 3rd liner for it.

It’s easier to blame a player while ignoring the incompetent organization he entered.

Stability and leadership will go along way for the youth of the team.

He is. I wouldn't have paid more and/or more term. Guessing Lou played hardball on term.

When I first read this title I thought the letter "F" was his grade and not his position. So that's where my mental capacity is of our former 8th overall draft pick.

I think it’s a overpayment.
And for 6 years.

He has had one good year.

Correct me if I am wrong but the last lockout was mainly because the players wanted more money in contracts because the owners were making such large margins

OR

The owners wanted it because the contracts were getting over-inflated and their margins weren't big enough because of so??

I can't remember?

It's yet another contract a team will want to get out from under before it's even half over.

6M for your 2C? Folks here wanna pay Duchene 7-8.5M. Duchene is a 60 point player though.

4 out of 5 full seasons as a 20 goal scorer... 1 50 point season...

Honestly this 6x6 could be used as a comparable to Samson.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't hear either side complaining about the basic revenue split.
