GMs will never say it but they'll always take talent over character. Ideally you'd like to have both traits in a player. Look at the Cleveland Browns GM, Dorsey signing his former Chiefs running back, Hunt about 5 seconds after he was able to be signed. Hunt was caught on video beating the crap out of his girlfriend. In any case, the NHLPA has already shown that it has no principles whatsoever by reducing the suspensions of players like Tom Wilson. Nothing they do at this point surprises me. As long as a player remains in good standing with the NHLPA and can provide value to his team he has nothing to worry about. I guess that is where Raffi Torres messed up.

I mean, both E.Kane and P.Kane were not charged, so that's not really the same thing. E.Kane allegedly beat up a girl, all charges were dropped. P.Kane allegedly raped a girl, all charges were dropped. Only the two people involved know for sure, but accused does not equal convicted, no matter how much you think they are scumbags.

Voynov however WAS charged, WAS arrested and WAS found guilty and WAS imprisoned for beating the poop out of his wife.
