Friedman linking Hayes to the Hawks. That’s yet another source connecting the dots between the two.

Bowman did something right? NOT A CHANCE!!! - paulr
Nope. The scouts get the credit for the draft and his dad gets credit for the trade. |

Somehow Tallon must have had his hand in it from South Beach.

Is this the deepest on paper the Hawks have looked for goalie prospects in a long time? |

If they’re gonna keep retiring numbers - I think they have to retire those of the HOFers on the Cup teams - 2, 19, 81, 88. |

If you take the Vinny, Schmaltz and Hartman treades and add them all together, Id say Stan is on a roll. I know it kills the narrative, but no one would've said he could turn those three into what he got out of it. |

Seabrook probably won't be inducted into the Hall of Fame. but his #7 will be retired also. |

I find it hard to understand why they'd want Hayes back here. He was and maybe still is a ME, ME, ME, type of player. Somebody please tell me if I'm completely wrong here. I just remember that when he left, that was the impression I got, based on the media. |

Likely correct, but every bit as deserving in my eyes.

He deserves it more than Hossa IMO. Hossa was a great all around, 200’ player, and an important piece to 3 cups, but from a statistical standpoint, his best years were not in a Hawk jersey.
Retiring numbers is a silly tradition anyway. If I were in charge, I’d unretire all numbers and just create a Blackhawk Hall of Fame, or Ring of Honor, or some other nonsense. |

I really don't get the attraction some Hawks fans have with Kevin Hayes. Aside from what some may consider a character flaw with his spurning the Hawks after 4 years where he was supposedly going to sign with the Hawk - the real reason I don't want Stan to acquire Hayes is because he's not THAT good. He's scored over 20 goals only once and scored over 50 points only once which was last season when he scores 42 points with NYR and another 12 after being traded to Winnipeg. That's 54 points in 71 games combined between the two teams. Strome scored 51 points in 58 games with the Hawks. He made $2.6M and I'd be surprised if he doesn't get some team to give him $5M+ - I'd rather keep Anisimov.
