How is Tanner still considered a hockey "expert?" He has the hockey IQ of a New Zealander. My apology to all New Zealanders! He has proven over and over how inept he is at evaluating players, coaches, teams, and now GM's. I can understand keeping him around for comic relief, but at least state somewhere that his posts should be considered farcical or that you let him write for you as part of your Diversity Hiring for people with Learning Disabilities. My apology to people with learning disabilities!

Tanner is right though. The Dubas bashing has been ridiculous over the Nylander deal.

The Nylander deal was actually decent and will turn out to be the best contract on the leafs in a few years. He royally (frank)ed the Matthews deal which in turn (frank)s the Marner deal.

He has incriminating photos of Ek.
I hear he's close to hiring Avenatti to make a big announcement. Avenatti only represents porn stars now.

Realistically nobody can say if this is a good or a bad deal yet. It really depends on what Duchene and Hayes sign for. It's not like a team can just decide to go without a top 6 center. You either sign one of you dont. Nylander who isn't even a legit Center Got $6.85M and Hayes and Duchene most likely get more. If a bidding war breaks out because a team or 2 decided they need a top 6 center. This could end up up being a good move.

And if you're a team that needs a second line center and loses a bidding war and are left empty handed. You're in a world of hurt
