HBD Pelle. Rest in Peace.

Can we all agree to never mention Jori Lehtera again?

Bill,

I haven't been able to see any of the games. How has Myers looked in limited minutes playing against the USA and Switzerland? Does he look out of place

It was always his dream to play for the Flyers.

He has kept things as simple as possible. Had one mistake against Switzerland, though, where he needed to get a puck in deep from the red line to allow for a line change and it got picked off for a potential counterattack. No harm resulted as an errant pass made the rush fizzle out. Otherwise, he was fine.

I was also disappointed not to get to see Lindblom as the tournament went on. He looked good. It reminds me of the comment AV made about talent having no age. It goes both ways and Lindblom’s well-rounded game deserves playing time. Love that this season can be a fresh slate.

this

Lindblom spent each of the final three games riding the pine as a 12th or 13th forward, playing a whopping single 10-second shift in the quarterfinals. When the chips were down, Grönborg and his staff decided to sink or swim with veterans such as Loui Eriksson (-3, 16:51 TOI in the QF game) and Marcus Kruger (-2, 18 shifts) over rising talents such as Lindblom or New Jersey Devils forward Jesper Bratt.

The progression of the World Championships was somewhat reminiscent of how Lindblom's usage was severely cut by Dave Hakstol near the end of his tenure as Flyers head coach.

Bill,

Looking to next year on the back end. If the Flyers acquire a top 4 vet, could Gostisbehere get pushed out of the top 4 with guys like Provorov, Sanheim and Myers taking on more prominent roles?

Also new coaches and new systems, could a guy like Sanheim or Myers maybe see some PP time over Gostisbehere?

I just feel like he could see a big drop in minutes depending on some things.

Bill,
Myers seemed to be getting shifts late against Swiss down 1. Good to see.

Bill, do you have any concerns or have you heard anything about the potential of Allison or Laczynksi not signing? I think some of us are paranoid about it (myself) and was also curious if the league has anything in place for compensation if that does happen? Thanks!

I still think Allison signs. Not sure about Laczynski. No compensation if they do not.

Bill, do you know which of Allison and Laczynski is considered a better prospect by the Flyers?

I’m not an Eklund guy but it’s hard to say no to a Ghost for one of Kapanen or Nylander deal.

I like Ghost’s current contract and his age but he’s not a dealbreaker in terms of winning.

I’m not saying I want to move Ghost. I’m saying this at all. I’m saying, this is a tough deal to say no to and I don’t even like Nylander.

Especially if we can get Sanheim and/or Myers to QB the PP. Ghost becomes expendable. Grabbing a young forward for him would be logical although I am not proposing they do so.

Sheesh! I sure hope Arron Asham got some Con Smyth voting for this game alone. What a gamer!

Bill,

Speaking of Tre Kronor... any opinion on Alex Wennberg as a potential trade target? Word is he could be available for as little as a draft pick this summer. Might be a worthy reclamation project.

I mentioned Wennberg a few months ago as a possible addition as a reclamation project...most comments i got were cyber loogies right in the face.

The biggest concern I have about him is his rumored back issues...back seems ok right now.

I was at the game. Probably the happiest I've ever been at a game (although the Rangers SO win was pretty good). And yeah, Asham was all over the place that day.

That Mike Richards shift is probably the greatest 20 second clip of mine. All due respect to Giroux's game 6 opening shift, the all-out effort by Richards, to me, personifies Flyers hockey. It's not about fighting or pretty dangling, he simply would not be denied on that shift.

Also, if I remember correctly, that was Carter's first game back from a broken foot and he ended up with 2 goals.

I think any 2nd line center they want to get will be a little more consistent. Not saying Wnnberg couldn't be interesting but if I am pushing patrick down i need a legit 2nd line center.

Kadri(trade), Trocheck(trade), Lee(UFA), Duchene(UFA), Hayes(UFA).

Probably plenty of other names but I think those guys bring a little more known about them compared to Wennberg
