Rangers in another month will not only have a better roster than the flyers but also a better farm system. Isn’t that neat?

Hextall was heading down the path, kind of, that the Rangers took, but he was swiftly cut off by Dave Scott. The Flyers aren't allowed to do what the Rangers just did.
Even so, Hextall did a good job in terms of getting multiple extra draft picks and built a nice prospect pool. We also have a good amount of cap. It's not all bad. |

How was he heading down the Rangers path? Did he have plans to offload Giroux and Voracek for picks? The Rangers gutted their team, Hextall had no such plans. |

I don't think we are too far off a contending team. If we can get a 2nd line center and another top 6 RW we should be in a good spot for next year.
Ofc this means having our D taking a step forward in their development curve and Ghost getting back to his normal levels. But given that we have Sanheim and Provarov they are a good 1st pairing (showed it last season) And then add in another top 4 Veteran D to that we should be making a big positive step.
And given Frost, Farabee and Raatcliffe is coming together with other interesting prospects I don't see the reason to be looking at Rangers and being envious.
Our D is much better off than theirs and we still haven't seen the best of myers, friedman and Morin. I will stay optimistic even though I will get scorched here |

Well, when he took over just before the 2014 draft he picked with what was left to him, however, the following year, he was doing what the Rangers are doing. Or did last year.
For the 2015/2016/2017/2018 drafts he had seven first round picks, all acquired by trading players to build for the future, like the Rangers are doing. Difference being he wanted to remain somewhat competitive while doing so, the Rangers, not so much.
Braydon Coburn was traded to Tampa for Gudas, a 1st rounder & a 3rd rnd'er.
Timonen was traded for a 2nd.
McGinn was traded for a 3rd rounder.
He traded our 18th OV pick and a 3rd to move down 4 spots and picked up a second rounder while doing so.
Traded Vinny to the Kings for a 3rd rounder.
Traded B. Schenn to the Blues for TWO first rounders.
Traded 2nd, 3rd & 4th round picks for the 35th overall pick to take Ratcliffe.
He was rebuliding the system on the fly, Farabee, Ratcliffe, Frost, Laberge, Allison, Sandstrom, Konecny, etc. are all from his building on the fly. |

Even the quickest rebuilds take five plus years. When you take in the big picture. |

The thing is we are a lot further along then some people are seeing it. At least in my opinion. We have some very good pieces in place. There are a few holes to fill but the Flyers have the cap space and picks/prospects to fill them.
I think a big thing is a coach with a proven track record. Not saying he’ll get it done but I like his chances along with the group of staff that was changed.
I believe. |

i wonder if either Ratcliffe of Farabee can switch to RW and then we have a Line of Frost centering Ratcliffe and Farabee...
Damn, now I am getting aroused too.... - MBFlyerfan
These three are as close to high end prospects that we have. I’m nterested to see how their talent will transition to the pro game.
Rub I’m going to enjoy following. While his Jr career was never very impressive he translated into the pros with ease. I’m hoping it continues to progress.
Morin is something that is a bit of a wild card and has been overlooked when talking about this D. He has a pro game and can give them that PK net clearing presence. |

Bob Clarke’s house is up for sale in Cherry Hill. It has a pool in the shape of the Flyers logo. - Dkos
I really love the utility sink in the laundry room. Fabulous! I can’t believe the whining you get from builders about putting in a nice sink in the laundry room especially if it is on the second floor. I suppose the pool is very nice too.

I would believe we are a further along if we were consistent. If Simmonds played up to his capabilities. If we had bottom six forwards, thriving in specific roles and assignments. If we weren’t putting all of our hope into inexperience and players ready to decline. |

Is that it? Haha
Well, if you add to the top six then the bottom six will be corrected by a mile. |
