I had no problems with the Brock signing, very solid player. I thought he was an excellent alternative to Hayes, basically the same guy but cheaper. Also don't think it's a bad idea to an extent to keep the band together for awhile. Isles had something going this year. Of course guys like Barzal and Lehner drive the train, but it just seems like your chemistry is through the roof. I'd make a couple smart tweaks, but I don't think I'd change much yet.

I think overpaying by a little bit for what Nelson brings is far less risky than going into July having added nobody down the middle. They simply couldn't do that.

They do need to add more firepower up front, that's an absolute must. Leddy will be a huge chip to help them do that. But, assuming they re-sign Lehner, there should be no changes in net or on the blueline.

I'd argue though that guys like Karlsson, Marner, Trouba, etc could get traded without offer sheets and it would still be wild. Wouldn't shock me to see an offer sheet extended to someone around the league. There are a bunch of capped out teams right now.
